90% of corporations behave less unethically than they could get away with, bottom line, total-cost-of-assholeness (TCA).

You can point to say Apple donating to homeless shelters in Cupertino. I could say they did that to butter up the Cupertino city council so they'd be allowed to expand their parking lot. I could say Apple has an interest in maintaining an image that's it's socially responsible, because that's what turns on its hipster millennial fan base, and what ultimately will sell more product. So donating to that homeless shelter gets paid back in sales ten fold.

Not provable either way. Just an observation that money always wins in the end.

They could start by kicking out of the nut growers. Nuts are ridiculous in the amount of water required. For example, almost 5 gallons for a single Walnut. Gee, I think I could live without walnuts. And CA grows 99% of all walnuts produced in the US. And 99% of almonds. And 98% of pistachios.

CA's aquifers are being sucked dry for the profits of these companies.

Or better yet, if we hadn't collected any climate data 50 years ago, it would be easier to claim the climate change is a leftist hoax. Ingenious!

I would vastly rather that $10 million go to outer space probes, information that in the long run is ACTUALLY VALUABLE.

  20. I would think that NASA's only role in this should be launching and maintaining the satellites. The Science and Climate Monitoring itself should be under NOAA control.

I came here for the LOL of seeing Trump supporters (and their Russian troll countparts) attempt to explain this one away. So your take is that because the science doesn't exactly match what you (?) think is NASA's scope, it should be completely stopped.
