You know, I've really got to wonder why people worry about this and do all of these conspicuous things, like encrypting their messages and whatnot, because it gives the feds a reason to think these people are breaking a law.
Me, I don't do anything that is easily construed as illegal. If they _want_ to accuse me of breaking the law, I am doing my best to make it not worth the effort.
I've always found science fun and interesting, though I am not Joe Public.
I enjoyed watching TLC before it was all "OMFG! Trading Spaces is on!" However, it was a whole lot of reruns on things they did before. Like Shark Week always seemed to be the same. And the dinosaur special. And the.. well, pretty much all the sciencey stuff.
Discovery Channel wasn't so bad, but then they deviated from hard science to other things.
If I had two good science channels, I'd get cable. Until that time, I'm content with Google. ^_^

I'm not an average user, but I'm not a super-geek either. I just don't download anything I don't need, and I audit my system for all executable files bi-monthly. Any executables that I don't know of, I find out what they are and delete them. The last time I had to delete any was more than two years ago when I was still running Win98, and even then it was only Gator.
Even so, my system hasn't been accosted by any worms, either, so it can't be just me. All I do about that is keep my active programs properly patched. That's it. If you think that Linux is 100% safe when unpatched, then I defy you to prove it.
Is this just another case of "The ones who know the least are the most vocal about it"?
This court thing that Vivendi Universal Games is pulling seems to me to be a very bad PR choice. If I were a developer and saw that VUG was willing to take me to court over its right to hold my game for up to six months before releasing it according to my desire, I would step past VUG and find someone else to distribute, or I would distribute the game myself.
I was under the impression that they said "most" as opposed to "all".

And what would I watch? Trading Spaces? Eck-bleh.
