    What do you expect from a commodity server manufacturer? If you want premium (server) hand-holding, buy from a premium (server) manufacturer (HP, IBM, etc.). I have to say, my expectations of OS support from the likes of Dell or MicroCenter or CDW are exactly ZERO. I shop with those guys when I care about price, and maybe a decent hardware warranty.

    I feel your pain on the HP drivers, but I had exactly the same issue with an HP laptop trying to downgrade it to WIN2K from XP - and this was five years or so ago. New HP laptop? only the latest MS OS drivers are available...

    With more processors, your program and its blocked IO calls will be checked more frequently. So even blocked IO calls will see a performance increase.
    You fail it.

    Well then you're not remembering very well. There was some crazy statistic floating around that a Prescott at ~25Ghz would put out as much heat per cm^2 as the surface of the sun.

    Some algorithms are inherently not amenable to parallelization.
    Are you sure about that? If you put 9 women on the task of making a baby it only takes a month...

    * Firewall Protection: Nineteen percent of respondents had their personal firewall turned off.
    Please define "at risk", "potential risk", "critically at risk".
    And by "personal firewall" do you mean that POS built into XP, or the POS from Symantec? Or do you mean the router firewall?

    And, alternately, Blu-ray is what Playstation 3 supports, which I think is more like what thier real motivation is - Xbox vs PS3.
