  1. The ad companies know when you're active or not. The mouse moves or your finger moves. Really simple.

  2. Americans, as far as I can tell, are already there. I know plenty of people who don't have computers. If they can't do something on their phone, then they don't do it. In my experience, 20-something Americans largely have trouble with typing, and of course, basic spelling and grammar.

  5. I doubt that the seller has to pay for shipping, though. Shipping stuff is EXPENSIVE. Most people don't know, because they don't actually pay shipping costs.

    Amazon is already taking 30% of the sales price PLUS 30% OF SHIPPING. There are very few things that can be sold for enough of a margin to make a profit with costs like that. Unlimited returns will remove any remaining profit from most merchants selling through Amazon.

    But hey, who needs profit, right? Just keep selling things below cost, and eventually, you'll make a profit, right?

    If by "most people" you mean "most people on the planet", you're correct. But it's available to almost everybody who is (legally) living in the US.

    Plenty of applications are supported more than 10 years. The same version of our point of sale has been supported for the past decade, and will be supported for another 5 years.

    14.04. The longest version is supported for 4.5 years. 16.06 has 5 years worth of support. What kind of company is going to re-do their entire infrastructure every 5 years? That's bonkers. It's a tremendous waste of time and money, that quite frankly, would get somebody (rightfully) fired in a heartbeat in our company. If you work for a company that can afford to re-do their entire IT infrastructure every 5 years, then congrats. Otherwise, you'd better keep your resume up to date, because a company that uses this stuff is burning through money at a rate that I can't even imagine.
