let's see if the department store would remove the mag-tag if doing so allowed you to make exact duplicates of that garment
Anyone can make an duplicate of any garment or anything they want. Granted you have to pay for the material - but compare that to the fact you have paid for the piece of hardware you use to play the copied music on.
Yeah you can argue that the hardware allows for an unlimited supply of music to be copied and re-distributed, but so does the material you buy to make your garment - you can unstitch it and make something completely different, or you buy truckloads of material in the first place anticipating that you will copy many garments.
the only real difference here is that copying music is easier to do (and cheaper in the long run - maybe).
yes and thats exactly why the playstation was a huge failure?? seems people didn't care so much that the loading times were slow as the gaming performance was decent when it finished loading.
i can tell you are a nintendo fanboi - have you taken a step back and realised that they have fallen behind badly in the console market?
note - he said "if i was a criminal".. anyone with anything incriminating on their computer would not hand over their pasword because of a piddly piece of paper signed by a judge.
I vouch for this.
my 1.5GHz 15inch powerbook never has the fan power up. (granted i've only had it for a week, but it has been on for 99% of that time and I have yet to hear any noise from it apart from the built-in speakers).
ermm, Suprnova still works but you have to access it a different way...

Well IE build # 6.0.2800.1106 on windows 2000 renders it incorrectly. Its not too noticeable, but the shell is displayed incorrectly behind the body - (it almost displays the entire shell again and doesnt scroll with the rest of the page).
I crash linux 20-30 times an hour doing simple stuff - why do people continue to feel linux is stable?
You are so full of shit - you would have to be using a machine which takes less than 1 minute to boot.
What the hell are you doing to cause this? I use my desktop/personal web/mail server for any number of things such as browsing the web with a number of different browsers, playing games both with wine and native linux ones (using supposedly "unstable" nvidia drivers - they have always worked great for me) and I havent had a crash for months. In fact the only time its been rebooted was when my fiancee's brother came to stay and couldnt sleep with the computer fan going.
Its not quite as simple as just packaging the programs.
They have to be packaged for and run perfectly on the 11 different hardware architectures that debian supports.
And the debian packages do more than just package these programs - they generally have to adjust the code in these programs (if you used debian and another distro you would notice how much more stable these packages are in debian than in other distros).
Plus all these developers are doing this voluntarily - so I think they are doing a great job speedwise with releases.

or Go -> History (at the bottom of the menu)
HAHAHAHA - thanks for that, I'm just glad I hadn't taken a sip of water before I read it! :-)
How many businesses ONLY purchase laptops and servers now?
Everybody I know buying computers has been going for laptops for the last couple of years.
So why is it that the salesmen always get the nice shiny new laptops / phones whereas the tech staff end up with the same old crap for years. :-P

its in a windows update.
Don't forget bluetooth!
of course most slashdotters have probably never used it due to the fact America has been slow on that uptake.
stupid thing is I can't get this damn MS bluetooth tranceiver working on windows server '03 - yet on the box it says.. and i quote:
"Hardware - Software - Compatibility.
The Microsoft Advantage"
now that is funny!
its the first decent bit of humor i've seen on /. today.
gave me a good chuckle.
1. Release false memo. /. - to find out developers thoughts on the JRE.
2. Wait for it to be discussed on
3. ???

I dont know why you people spout such crap.
ok so thats the port - now what does the data travel to the CPU / RAM through?
technically its still the pci bus - however its acceptable to call it an AGB bus.
Im assuming these work on a mac.
The combination of these two programs let you play pretty much any old sierra adventure game.
Oh and if you like lucas arts games like Day of the Tenticle & SamnMax look for scummvm.
Can't remember where i got this from:
;
main () {
for (;;) {
printf ("Hung up\t\b\b\b\b\b\b")
}
}

Well dylan,
considering a mile is ~1.6 KM
i dont see how you get a value of MPH that is higher than KMH.
