I have had this for the past few months, beta testing it. I finally took it off after I received a known virus (the FBI one) saved the attachment, scanned it and it found nothing. I updated the program just to be sure and then scanned it again, still nothing. Oh well, so much for that idea. I went back to AVG Free. It wasnt a terrible product, but missing known viruses that have been around for a few days is really really bad...

Wow! That was vivid imagery for this time of the morning....
Dell certainly didnt move their home support back to the US. Their business support may be here, and the people who own an XPS get to use their special support, but the regular home user still gets sent to India for everything from tech support to Dell Financial Services. And they give their support people very English sounding names. I have had the pleasure of talking to Cameron, Sara, and a few other blatantly American names, even though the people I spoke to had very thick Indian accents. I dont particularly mind, but it makes for some interesting conversations at times.

And actually, having said that, I quite enjoy participating in that deviant behavior, simply because it allows me to act out on things I could never do in real life...;-)

Precisely, that is why we discussed it as a world with no repercussions, and compared it to Heim's vision of Virtual Reality. If there are no consequences, human nature is quite destructive...

We talked alot about the Sims and TS-Online in my philosophy class. We were having a discussion about human nature and virtual reality, and whether it would eventually lead us to a more enlightened era or if we would sink further into the dregs of humanity. I used The Sims to show that if there were no repercussions, people are generally going to do bad things - TSO is a haven for prostitution, crime and just all around deviance. Hence, we pretty much came to the conclusion that human nature is to do as much as you can get away with... So aside from spending hours on end playing the sims, you are also taking part in a really cool psychology and philosophy experiment. "Tapping Internet phones is far more complicated than listening in on traditional calls because the wiretapper has to isolate voice packets moving over the Internet from data and other information packets also traveling on the network." Somehow I doubt the govt. is going to bother to filter out the data being transmitted with the voice. They will just monitor everything they possibly can that is being sent over that pipe... Scary.
What!?! You haven't visited every site on the Net!?! And you call your self a slashdotter... J/K. I wasn't trying to downplay how cool the picture is, just saying I didnt feel it too be particularly newsworthy...
I had a similar experience with Circuit City matching a Best Buy price that included a rebate. They gave me the $100 off of my laptop on the spot to make the sale....
This is a reasonable price for downloadable music... They are saving the price of the media, the packaging, the shipping - all of the things that cost the real money and dont just line the recording companies pockets...

And its also spelled F A V R E not F A R V E, so you really not infringing there...
Of course, I am an idiot and included trailing slashes on my picture links, so they wont work... Try this. http://www.patriotwebdesign.us/slash.jpg or if already /.'ed http://www.boomspeed.com/backdraft/slash.jpg

I have had this as my desktop for over a year now... I suppose its nice to show it to more people, but its hardly newsworthy...
