    I want to resign, I mean i am the only "white" person in the developer group (1 out of 300+). Thats only because they couldnt provide any reason during the technical interview to say hes not good enough. I dont blame them, because they are very very hard workers, but at what cost? Their mental health? They also do this because its cheaper to higher such a worker. But this is a shame, all the chiefs are caucasions and the little Indians are are at work.

    totally not true. I have been there and around the block. I see entry level, and Mid level programmers come in here, they are good at current technology and can code for more hours. But they definitely have a problem coding smarter not harder. I can OO their code and almost reduce a third of their code easily. I also know of 15 years of knowing where bugs usually appear before hand and come up the most. Thats right software engineers decline at 40 and become architects

    If you have lost it, and the desire to learn newer technologies, or at least stick to a certain frameset, and its newer technologies. its over for you. I used to code night and day. Even i dont code at night anymore, but still as a full time job they are paying me for what i love to do. I think you need a psychologist to find out where you went off track.     This is why CEO’s and business people, should not be envolved in the technical hiring process. Here is what they are missing. C++. you can code in unmanaged c++ and managed c++.net at the same time with visual studio. What does that mean? it means you can code to the moon. without using the CLR or needing MONO or anything. Im also pretty sure you can code in Win7 mobile in eMbedded c++.

    I can hack my localhost , local software, post a video on youtube, as long as i dont reduce binary or any PoC. But today i know in the EULA it says you cant even tamper with what you paid for. sony can only learn from this experience dont go after this guy. Microsoft invited me to the campus for my input when i created a 0day. There is Pwnto0wn etc. This is all he is doing if im not incorrect. If he distributed or gave out code, then i would say hes a bad man.

    I have used pocket pc's and smartphones for 2-3 years now. I recently bought the tilt windows mobile 6. I do agree its hard to navigate I do agree its hard to see. But in the end, its more usefull then useless. You can navigate, and you can see. The only thing that would help, is either larger monitors built in the car, or even better, VR glasses i can put on to see a screen better, or those futurstic pull out screens i saw on the movie planet mars! But as for the gphone. i belive it or not do agree it will temporarily at least fail. I am suing skype mobile on my phone using the 3g network and my voice is delayed about 5 seconds, which is just about unbearable. Michael Evanchik

    They had nothing on them no. What i am saying is as a side note to this whole discussion is the Feds oddly left possible evidence which concerns me on what they do with real "criminals".

    Although technically that is the truth. But morally there is a difference between intent to sell. Drug laws i believe state an amout of evidence which is the difference of intent to sell or not.

    basically all i can say is this particular case although techincally its wrong no way deserves the penalty he might get. As for his prior convictions i belive the burglary was for using sub7? not quite sure but thats how he got started experimenting. if u call sub7 burglary. I know him personally, he has a beautiful daughter never means any harm. This is just the life of dont give a shit black hat messing around. And the system that is setting him up over and over again cause he is an easy person to catch and they cant catch the real criminals.

I was just trying to spread lite for his side of the story. He does not do drugs nor do i. I really think its funny that windows was sold for 20. To me honestly its worth 4.95

    I dont disagree with any of that. As for the investigation, hard drives and a linux computer should have been included. Beyone me why they would leave that.

    Let me break down the points for you since u seem to have trouble. - William is not a criminal - The Manhatten FBI did a horriable job at evidence recovery - 20$ does not justify 10 years and 250,000 fine - Source code is freely available, its too late for microsoft or the feds to do anything about it to stop it. Hope that clears it up for you. Let me know if you need any other help with english.

    Ok here is the inside "scoop" on this story. I also live in connecticut and have known william for the last 8 years or so. Although sometimes he experiments with the "black hat" initiative he is not a criminal. For one to understand security you need to understand the underground world. They raided his house by tricking him to let them into his house because there was some report of a "break-in". They took most of his computers, but left hard drives, linux machine and other things. Im sure glad the Feds do such a great job. Imagine if this was a terrorist and we left critical information like this. He did not get rich of this source code. He met some guy who wanted it for 20 bucks. Some of would say why not. We all know this source code is available at the click of a mouse on p2p, kazaa, google, or bittorrent. Microsoft thinks and makes the Feds believe that there is still some sort of conspiracy going on

    Actually not true. What microsoft doesnt understand is small vulns can be combined with other small vulns that can create one big problem. For example lets say a vuln comes out (again) where you can execute cmd.exe from a webpage. Thanks for microsoft ignoring small vulns like known location of temp files for outlook, all one would have to do is run cmd /c shell:profile/temp/pic[1].jpg So please, even minute vulns need to be patched!!
