It appears to me that fox has already found a way to use this feature to inundate us with even more adverts... when you do a search for the Simpson's, the only relevant content you get are the episodes shown on UPN. Anything from fox is a series of 5 snippets of their advertisers...
sounds very much like the same train of thought that led futurist Ray Kurzweil to co-author the book Fantastic Voyage. Very interesting stuff and right along the same lines.
if you believe Christmas is about giving for the sake of giving you must not be living in a commercialized capitalist society... Christmas anymore is about slavery to large corporations...that as an obedient consumer you must buy at least one product for every single person you know on the list.
If someone buys you something for the simple fact that something made them think of you, isn't it much more meaningful if they do this at any time of the year other than Christmas?
they are not currently looking to port any of their flagship products such as Photoshop to Linux yet, as they currently don't see sufficient numbers in the platform to make a good business case for it.
WTF??
Of course not!! i believe the very act of porting the software to a linux machine would create the numbers they need!!!i don't think i only speak for myself when i say it feels like i am stuck with windows as long as i am trying to stay marketable in the graphics design world. Sure those of you Linux people might say, "Linux has a lot of software that acts like Photoshop..." But thats just not good enough... i promise, i for one would reformat this weekend if i could use the same graphics software on a Linux machine...
yes yes...and then bin ladens supposed threat to the red states lines up well with John Titor's explanation of who the coming civil war will be fought between...
Oh Oh! he also said it would become apparent with the civil unrest near the 2004 election!
but i do not see anything of that sort...not in today's America.
eh, thats BS...supply will meet demand and a few hundred IT guys will eventually realize they should quit their nine to five and open up a wireless internet company that could supply thousands
I REALLY can't understand the logic of "we have a problem, lets call congress!!!"
I believe we are experiencing the last dying gasps of the final generation of TV as we know it... personally i have found myself watching all my TV on my computer, from downloaded Simpsons episodes to streaming CNN newscasts. I havent owned a TV in years. Most the younger people i know (18-25) are pretty much headed towards the same direction.
There was a time i had an outstanding debt on my credit report... i got a call once saying that they were a new collection agency handling my account and that if i paid them right then, they would significantly reduce the amount owed...
well i decided to ask them to mail me the details and they refused...they too had a sense of urgency that made me a little edgy. my scam alarms were going off so i hung up the phone and went on my way.
...of something i was thinking about the other day after a couple weeks of hunting spyware on my PC. what if someone comes along and designs some spyware that actually functions quietly (without the random popup windows and other tell-tale signs of infection). And they are able to open a port and upload any sort of incriminating evidence they would like into your own home... what is there to stop this sort of thing from happening?
remember the/. article about north korea waging a cyber war on americans?
ITS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME
point taken but...the point really is i don't know if i would have ever picked up one of their album's otherwise and since have bought all of their cd's (legally) and the live DVD's (also legally)... oh yeah, the other point was that it was nice to have a decent selection of music in the third world.
am quite thankful for the Russian bootleg economy. When travelling through Nepal and India really the only music selection I had was that of Russian imported bootlegs. Which is actually quite vast!! as I recognized many (if not most) US titles... They were also priced cheaply enough that I would not be over-concious in keeping them protected while traveling... In fact it was there I first picked up and listened to an album by the band called Portisehead, whom to this day I would say is one of the best bands in all of existance and who's music is THE perfect soundtrack for touring the third world!!
Also if you like good Canadian Rock music check out "Spiritual Machines" by the band Our Lady Peace. Its an amazing album inspired by the concept of this book and even has excerpts read by the author himself. The whole album has a very eary sci-fi feel to it...
Mob mentality seems so strange to me, blown around by the subtlest breeze.
i mean, who out there actually paying attention says "ooh, look at the mud thrown in Bush's face, he looks horrible... and Kerry's standing there all clean... I think Kerry is the way to go.."
is that not how these polls indicate these people think? wasnt it mob mentality that put Jesus on the cross? I am ready for November... I have had enough...
but i for one will not be happy until there are sensors in my gut, telling the internet when i am hungry and what i am hungry for...
then a perfectly prepaired meal will arrive on an internet conveyer belt.
or when advertisors are able to tell exactly what my weaknesses and desires are at that very moment due to sensors in my brain...then they will charge it to my account and it too will arrive on my internet conveyer belt.
we can only imagine how crappy TV can become... with the current incoherent and pathetic state television programming is in, combined with the highly developed yet second rate connection a cell phone provides, i am sure this will be beyond irritating...
technology yet again takes bold a step forward...
and the show must go on!!
