I've been playing guitar for years, but never invested enough time to be extremely good.
When I saw my friend playing Guitar Hero, I wanted to slap him because anyone that actually wanted to learn to play guitar would get a real one, not a video game.
After about 3 months of watching him and other people I associated with sub-70s I.Q.s play the game, I got drunk one night and decided that I could own all of them because I actually know how to play a real guitar.
I was mistaken.
So I set out get better, and over the next week I spent my time completing the game with the difficulty set on Hard. That weekend, I was playing my friends again, and giving some a run for their money, but still losing. However, I was having the time of my life. I wouldn't give that guitar up for the life of me. Anyone that would claim they called the next game was threatened with physical violence.
BEWARE. This game is addicting. What alcohol does to a person over 20 years, this game does to you over an hour, plus or minus a few minutes. Doesn't matter if you're a musician or not.
It appears that the offending line has been changed in TFA
from the new TFA: The player will sell for 110,000 yen (US$936) in Japan. In the North American market there will also be a cheaper player, the HD-A1, priced at $500. Toshiba said the price in Japan is based on its expectation that video enthusiasts will be first to adopt the technology, while in the United States, the prices are aimed more at average consumers who are more price conscious.
I am teaching lately and I tell all my students that mathematics is the one subject where it is possible to get 100% even if the teacher is a cruel, ugly, old bastard.
In the Spring, I was taking my Intro to Advanced Mathematics class. I didn't get my 100% on 3 of my tests because I had comma splices in a few of my proofs on the tests.
Ugly, Old Bastard? No.
Cruel? Not completly.
Am I still pissed? Yes.
Imagine if you would, for just a moment, that there is more to life than linux, sco, microsoft, google, nintendo, sony, etc. Imagine too, that someone out there, might be interested in this.
A real nerd would never say such things.
However, slashdot does need a "Culture" section for these kinds of articles(ie, Serenity, the Raiders of the Lost Ark remake, Spamalot, etc...)
Slashdot does not need a culture section. Slashdot is a culture in itself.
Any movie where the bad guy has no depth != a good movie.
What? The bad guy is the government. That is an automatic bonus of 3.5 stars on a 10 star scale. How could this not be a good movie? The only way it could get better is if it took place in the US and it was our totalitarian government that was being taken out.
You can know _exactly_ what's happening at each point, in real time, and the soldiers can know exactly what's expected of them. You can instantly see when your troops are being pinned and flanked, and how, and you can tell them exactly how to counter it.
Yeah, we all know. The real question is if Infested Kerrigan is going to be able to muster up the remnants of the Zerg forces and defeat Jim Raynor and the Protoss in the sequal.
CRT's do not make you ill. You get a headache from squinting or sitting slumped in your seat, at most.
Right before I read this comment I had taken my contacts out. I have -4.75 in each eye. No i am sitting hunched over my keyboard with my face about 6 inches from the screen and my eyes sqinted enough to cut the screen brightness in half.
And I gotta tell ya I dont have the slightest hint of a headache...
"The around-the-world flight should be completed inside 80 hours"
Jules Verne thought 80 days was hard to pull off. Imagine what he would think of this.

Can we expect the second return of the Mesiah to join in on the court battle for telling his story?
