  1. Except what will really happen on T-Mobile Exec Calls For End To Cell Phone Subsidies · · Score: 1

Is they will get us to pay the full price for the phone and then raise the charges right back to where they are or charge for some other made up service, none of these corporations are interested in giving consumers a deal, they are interested in their bottom line which translate to crap networks, slower speeds than the rest of the World and high prices.

Get rid of contracts or at least offer a 3 month window for consumers to bail out of their plans, stop the growing monopoly and then when they have to compete with each other the consumers will benefit.

  5. War is Inevitable on Iran War Clock Set At Ten Minutes To Midnight · · Score: 1

By creating the clock you have given more validity to the pro war meme currently being circulated in the republican debates and MSM, the fact that Israel just asked us for a "bunker buster" bomb is telling, and the fact they were forced to promise not to use it this year (due to elections?) is more telling.
    http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/03/08/us-iran-nuclear-israel-usa-idUSBRE82717220120308

Israel uses the US as a proxy army, utilizing the power of AIPAC to further it's own goals through lobbying and manipulation of American politics, one need only watch a republican debate and see how the candidates stumble over each other is their pledge to support Israel, this has really gone far enough don't you think?

Israel has nukes and refuses to sign non-proliferation treaties, Iran has no nukes (yet) and no one in their right mind would think Iran would attack Israel if they did have a nuke, it would bring the World down on them and Israels retaliation would be swift.
Iran with nukes presents a different sort of problem, not one of using the nukes but one of political implications and Israeli paranoia is dragging the US into another "war" we can't afford.

Currently all 3 countries involved in this fiasco are gearing up for elections so what does that tell you about all the rhetoric?

    Enough is enough.

Only in recent times has this entered the common conscious and become such a powerful meme, for some one my age it seems odd to hear people talk as though this "terrorism" is such a powerful threat, have you given any thought to this idea at all?
In the USA, besides ourselves, who really threatens us? To me "external terrorism" is as absurd as the cold war was, a huge expenditure of money we do not have spent pursuing military objectives that don't exist.
The only serious threat (IMO) is that of the disgruntled citizen, the militias and religious nuts in this country and those that yearn for a race war, the ME is no threat to us, never was never will be.
This concept of external terrorist would be amusing if it were not so frighteningly effective on the average persons outlook.

The "War on Terrorism" is just a scam, after the cold war they needed a new "plot device" to keep people in line and feed the Military-Industrial complex (see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8y06NSBBRtY ) and now they have it, the "Never Ending War on Terror (NEWT)", it can never be won because terrorism is "the use of violence and threats to intimidate or coerce, especially for political purposes. " and that will never ever go away.

If you ever wonder just how stupid people are simple look at the news and what's broadcast to get an idea of the average intelligence of a society.

  21. Pro recording on Why Distributing Music As 24-bit/192kHz Downloads Is Pointless · · Score: 2, Insightful

I record my performances at 96 kHz sample rate, I have to say that the music sounds much better at 96 kHz than 48 kHz I think (feel?) because the higher sample rate gives audio effects like reverb a lush, deeper sound.
The more sample units per second give the effects more to work with, in addition, even though you can't hear above and below certain frequencies recording those inaudible frequencies has an effect on the final product.

You may be able to find some scientific proof of this but for me it's an ear thing, higher sample rates sound better.
