Apple has an entire team dedicated to education, they have the entire Maine school district, Los Angeles, Texas, Hawaii and several other states using their hardware so it is only natural that these same customers will move to iPads. The issue here is textbooks on the iPad are cheap now because of marketing and getting people on the platform, once there the prices rise, one other thing would be 3rd graders using iPads, guess how many are going to get broken and need replacement, plus only a smattering of schools purchased accidental damage coverage from Apple, the rest just got "Apple Care" which only covers manufacturing defects not accidental. Apple is perfectly positioned to take advantage of the education market, they've been farming it for quite some time and they do it well.
Get over root access, the majority of users shouldn't have anything greater than limited application access to computers much less root access.
It seems like things have turned sour for Apple,(no pun intended) I know these patent wars have been going on for some time but in the last 2 months I have seen a lot more anti Apple articles than I recall ever reading before. The timing of it is most likely coincidence, or maybe not.
Lots of hate for Facebook, not that it isn't deserved but it is amusing in that it makes me wonder how many here use it and why it is so popular when most of what I read suggest people dropped it and simply can't stand it.
I recently created a FB account to use as an easy log on to other sites, using a false name, a Photoshopped photo made up of various facial parts of celebrities and found that when I tried to log on to other sites using the FB account they all want to add an app that gets full access to my contacts (there are none) and a variety of other information. Funny that just by having friends in Facebook you wind up getting raped sideways because they allow access to their contacts.
I notice you left out the last bit of my post which damns the rest of yours, a little squabble between thieves doesn't amount to much, the real issue who makes the laws and who enforces them.
Nope, you used a tired tactic to try to justify your position, the truth is the issue in the article is actually a non-issue, it is irrelevant to anyone with an attention span longer than a mosquitoes. The real issue is who makes the laws and who enforces them.
Part of your argument seems to be, "if your situation could be worse, then your situation is good!" What? Your wife was murdered? That's nothing! The criminals could've murdered your daughter, too! Stop complaining!
As if anything that one deems as an injustice should be overlooked merely because you say that worse things happen.
Seriously? You think Kim getting his warez site taken down by some heavy handed corp is comparable to murder of ones family members? You are so out of touch it's actually frightening.
Stop buying their products and they cease to exist, but I guess you just can't help yourself, you have to buy their products then come on/. and compare this trivial fiasco to Nazism.
When did I say i don't like the rappers? The only person I saw saying what had happened was illegal was the guy it happened to a known thief. You clearly didn't read what I wrote, and if you did you didn't comprehend it.
Issuing a DMCA-takedown notice for content you don't own copyright to is illegal, yes.
Ignorance is bliss, eh?
Is that what happened? So far only according to a known criminal, at the most to me it's amusing that one criminal is crying about another criminal. Seriously who gives a fuck? It's music and video since when did "entertainment" become so important as to occupy more than a passing moment of thought? Judging by your comments one would think it was great big deal worth fussing about, it isn't.
Ignorance is bliss, if you knew everything that went on in this world you would most likely curl up an die or outright kill yourself like the photographer of this picture did. http://www.flickr.com/photos/alex978/1016152029/
It's a brutal, cruel World we live in, if you want to spend your energy fussing about 2 criminals screwing each other be my guest, I would think you might want to direct that energy to a more meaningful purpose, for example the children like the one in the photo.
If he paid for the artists to perform, the music and lyrics are completely new and not copied from some previous song, then yes, it is illegal as UMG doesn't own the copyrights to them. You may see illegal DMCA-takedown requests as "business as usual", but that doesn't make it right.
My point here is that the only one so far stating it was illegal is Kim, a known embezzler, and criminal, but is it truly illegal? If so why should I care if "megaupload" or their "video" goes offline it's a non-issue to me, I have gone on long enough about this sort of abuse of power and it's clear to me "we the people" have no say in it, your one vote is a joke and gets you nothing but jury duty.
I'm not a multibillionaire so there's nothing I can do about it.
Same mentality that caused the "housing crash", what irks me even more is people like you trying to argue that he isn't a bad guy, he is clearly a scum bag and has been convicted for his scum bag ways.
Vain, self indulgent rappers supporting a warez site? How odd is this especially since one of the key figures running Megaupload is a criminal. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kim_Schmitz
This would create a lot of jobs, which to some people are more important than trolling the Inet with Photoshopped pictures of leaders and religious figures.

This is only news if you live under a rock, if you want to fully understand this look at who control that 90%.
I am serious, I have seen more anti apple articles in the last 2 months since his death, and that is all I said isn't it.
So tired of you moronic fucks that can't comprehend what you read.

If you're sick of the verb "tweet".

And, from what I see, those who abuse the laws, as well.
Well that would be the "pirates" wouldn't it, if no one pirated media there would be no take down orders.
I notice you left out the last bit of my post which damns the rest of yours, a little squabble between thieves doesn't amount to much, the real issue who makes the laws and who enforces them.

Then why worry about it?
Is it illegal? I think the only person saying that so far is Kim, and you seem outraged by abuse of power where as I see it as business as usual.
If this abuse bothers you so much what are you doing about it?
Only because the people telling the story of the "heroes" are criminals and the populace is too ignorant to notice this.
Someone has a sig on /. "bring back the guillotine" indeed, wouldn't that be more interesting than Sunday football.

What's the dilly yo?
I don't think using the word "reverence" when speaking about a web site is the correct way to go, maybe "trust" but not reverence.
Really...
Are you saying that you NEVER post or sent an email by accident?
I start before that point, I don't write anything I wouldn't be OK sending.
You have never clicked a mouse reflective?
Reflexively? Yes but not during an install, which goes back to my pay attention point.
Do you read all the fine print in your credit card statements and bank statements?
Yes.
Do you read the legalese in every piece of software that you install?
The person may not have the attention to detail that they need.... OR they made a mistake.
No I don't read EULA's, and not paying attention is what creates mistakes, so back to my original point "pay attention".
They prefer the term "Rodent American" not "rat".
I think that's the idea you sort through the "unoriginal" essays until you find the talent, the person that would benefit the most by an education.
Sounds like the attention spans are dropping across the board for every age group now.
Should you be using Nmap if you can't pay enough attention to opt out of installing a toolbar?
Yes I meant jobs for India as they need them even more than the West does.
