I was a young boy, it was 4th grade and I was living in Taiwan. (no I was not a military brat) Our "American" school took us on a field trip to a Taiwanese school to see what it was like for local kids our age. At my school we did math problems such as 23 x 65 = ?, yes... that's all the more difficult it was. At the Taiwanese school they did problems such as 34251 x 67453 = ?, but that wasn't all they did, a lot of what was on their board I didn't even understand.
It's been suggested that a lot of the kids at the "American" school were military, and that's why the bar was set low, the truth is I don't know why there were such low expectations. What I do know is that expectations were much higher in Taiwan and else where for the same age group.
As if the hunch backed idiot masses using "smart phones" wasn't bad enough. Example: Constant scanning mode, "oh that guy is arguing with his SO", upload photo + facial data to "asshole.com" next subscriber to Ahole.com scans, facial data clicks "oh look there's an asshole". A whole new level of technological oppression.
Insert scenario here.
And you thought state based CCTV was bad...wait until this crop of sociopathic millennials goes to work on the public.
All those highly trained tech support agents in the call center "did you reset your modem? Reset it again... still not working? ok I'll send someone out and we will charge you"
Spare me, where's my right not to photographed or videoed and added to some list/website/whatever. Glass has no business out in semi public places, (or public IMO) as usual the technophiles move ahead regardless of outcome because "it's cool", don't give any thought to the possible abuse of such a device, and never mind the allegations and violations involving the NSA and Google collaboration with said entity. Every time someone wearing the device looks at me (and my fiends agree) it's creepy.
