My point was if we want to talk about Congress doing the spending, the Republicans can, at any time halt whatever they want before it gets to the President. Then the Republican President can veto it.
The Republicans, being in charge, are 100% responsible for whatever happens in the US.
Should be "Thank you Republican Congress and Thank you Republican President for not vetoing ANY pork-barrel spending the Republican Congress has wanted to do!"
AND the 2 that didn't vote it down were democrats as well!
Look at it this way, if you're in a war and I give you 10,000 troops and 500 of those die, how many do you have left? Before you answer 9,500, think about what WAR is. Just because someone's not DEAD doesn't mean they can fight. The real answer is... I don't know, because I'm not going to supply you with a breakdown of which of the injured can fight and which can't! So there!
Seriously though, what ARE we going to do when we've gone through the military, the national guard AND the reservists and still don't have enough people over there? I guess we could call it "Mandatory Service" instead of a draft so that we can still say that we never reinstated the draft!
As I am always one to look at the story from the other side, why WERE we kicked out of the UN Human Rights committee? After a quick search, it appears to be because of US arrogance. http://archives.cnn.com/2001/US/05/03/us.human/ You can't desire to have a say in global politics and then pursue "US ONLY" policies.
Ask yourself this; at this point which country is more likely to have a global agenda towards human rights, the US or Libya? Right now the US doesn't have a GLOBAL agenda for anything except their brand of Freedom they want to force on other countries.
The world IS cooperating for what's good for them, not what's good for US. If we were a PART of that we could have a say, but, we've basically painted ourselves as the-big-bad-wolf.
If the UN is a terrorist organization, then I wish the US were more like a terrorist organization. Maybe THEN we'd have gotten better information about the WMD's in Iraq!:)
Not to mention all the services that are popping up to convert physical CD libraries to play on iPods. That's a BIIIIG market (with money to burn) to ignore.
Then again, if they were good at judging what REAL consumers wanted, they'd have OWNED the market long before the iPod.
That should read UP TO 16 hrs. Apple has generally given times related to the bitrate that most people will find acceptable 160 when they were using MP3, 128 now that they're using AAC). How much do you want to bet that this 16 hrs is when you use the Windows Media format at 64kps?:)
By the way, that's also the only way you're going to get 600 hours of digital music on it, too. Is Apple the only company that rates their player by how many songs/how long it'll play at 128kbps?
C'mon, just the idea of Slashdot, Gentoo, the producers of "That 70's Show", Rheem, his cousin, brother, both sisters, guy down the street AND Old Man Jenkins starting a music store was ludicrous to begin with! Just because you've got a soft spot for Loudeye doesn't mean that they don't offer a service the good folks above could take advantage of, for a price:)
LoudEye, give us some money, we'll give you an online music store!

No, you buy it for OTHER people to gawk at it's aesthetics :)
