    for windows: virtualdub
    for linux:
    avidemux, Maybe cinelerra but it's a bit buggy and resource hungry!
    You can also use mpgtk, A set of tools, you can use them to split/merge mpegs
    encoders like mencoder and/or transcode.
    I think kino is a dv or non linear video editor, I can't remember!

    MS'll buy firefox ? hmmmm, Then OpenSource'd have won the battle. I'm not much experienced with licenses, but AFAIK any modifications to the source code of mozilla/firefox must be made available. Imagine MS working with an OSS model! this rocks man ;-)

    Tell you what I'm using gmail for ?
    Daily backups for my website are being emailed to my gmail account. Now I won't have to open gmail to check whether they arrived or not, I use rss2email to get RSS feeds, Now I can have gmail RSS feed, r2e'll email them to my primary pop3 enabled mailbox, Done!
    I'll know whether the backups are there or not without need to open gmail to check ;)

    It applies to CVS, But I think it can be used to build the stable release, Actually If you don't want to break your current XFree installation, You can install it in a different prefix by defining:
    #define ProjectRoot /opt/Xorg
    #define NothingOutsideProjectRoot YES
    in your host.def

    That this is against the Debian FreeSoftware Guidelines, And that the core internet technologies should Not be controlled by a comp. Or A comp. can have a patent on them.
    I think the current sitution is not good, What I'm afraid of is that it might be wide spreaded all of a sudden, Though I doubt it, As apache is the leade when it comes to webservers. Or am I wrong ?
