On one hand, you have a small and efficient 1 watt wireless radio modem. It just works. Now, you wanna listen to the signal. You look around and find that the SETI antennaes are still in use, so you fell deseperate because you cannot borrow them right now...
But all those nice countries (http://www.hermetic.ch/crypto/echelon/echelon.htm) made you a gift: huge HUGE HUGE antennaes that can even receive the signal of your 1 watt modem 40 miles away!!! I just hope they will provide me a truck to help me borrowing them to my home...
Thank you, America!
I've got to say I really liked was I was seeing until I'd noticed the SD/MMC card slot. The SD specification being closed and protected (cf. the f-ing copyright protection part http://sdcard.org/sd_memorycard/index.html) the sources of the whole kernel won't be available and the SD/MMC slot driver will be a binary-only module.
This implies that you won't be able to change your kernel freely and keep all all the current functionalities of this nice box. I can't understand why they haven't made the Linux-friendlier choice of a CF card slot. It sucks.
It reminds me too much of the Zaurus C7xx/C8xx case. I know, I own one. And that's the only reason why I wouldn't buy one...
Well, that wasn't about the encryption key used to transfer some music to some music devices using the Airport Extreme. The point is all about the hardware specs of the Airport Express wireless card builtin many great Apple products. The problem, you simply can't use them with a GNU/Linux OS as their specs ain't public yet, so they don't have a driver. That's also the same story with the f-ing ATI graphic cards in these Apple products.
In this interview, Apple VP isn't focusing on the software, but on the hardware. And that's the only reason why I'd buy a Mac. But for it to be useful for me, I need the specs of the Airport Extreme WIFI cards and of the f-ing ATI thing...
Before stating something is authoritative or not, you should definitely understand what authoritative means. It comes from authority, which involves a relation between two parties. Apart from the laws of nature, there is no such thing like a universal authority that applies to you and me.
So this story is all about Al Fasoldt who is reporting that some librerians do not consider Wikipedia as an authoritative source. Fine. What's the point? What's the surprise in there?
AFAIK, the Pravda newspaper hasn't been recongnized as an authoritative source by the US government and CNN isn't recognized as an authoritative source by the French government. Or Slashdot, or Rael website, or [North|South] Korea governement web site...No encyclopedy is authoritative to everybody. Does Kurdistan belongs to a country, which country rules over Kashmir, which country started the Mexico-USA war in the mid 1800s'? Take any place in the world where some people disagree about any topic and you can multiply examples. I personally think this is good that people do not recognize the same source as an authoritative source. I has to do with the freedom of thinking...
That's why different religions, languages, cultures and opinions exist.

Unless I need thick glasses, I'd say http://www.pepper.com/content/press_room/images/20 040514-018-PepperPad2_Model-D-09-4x6-300.jpg at the top right corner of the picture.
BTW, I know that SDRAM is kind of different from all those solid state memory cards, but I thank you for confirming it...

/. stories should all be classified under "security" ...
But let's talk about something serious: how many FPS in Doom III?
...
Mmmmm... That might be worth the upgrade then...
Would this be enough to prevent him to have a boyfriend?

So it's not going to be usable by Free Software operating systems which is a shame.
Apart from Sun boxes, nothing is better than a Linux on a Mac.
