    Those are cases when banks and stores are victims of crimes. Not cases of banks and stores spying on customers and reporting then to the police because they told a friend they planned to buy some drugs or download copyrighted porn.

    All of that makes perfect sense but ignores the probability of the Chinese imposing a retaliatory tariff on a US product to remain in place till they're allowed to dominate the solar panel market.

    I'd think marketing alone would create greater private sector overhead than public sector then there's executive salaries, high than public sector workers especially with a CEO. Both need accountants but public would need less per covered person just based on not having to file taxes.

    When the next election rolls around make a fuss, point out to everyone that the police have cost you money with their thuggish tactics, demand candidates for the city council reduce the police budget by 170k demand the officers be fired. Your city officials allowed this, hold them accountable for it.

    All his words. But without the context of any of the other words he's said or why he said them. And it would be fair use but if I ran it as a political ad it'd be libelous.

    This ad of Romney's is damaging to NBC news. It makes it appear that they are taking a side and part of their buisness model is being officially neutral. This love of out of context political ads is biting him on the ass.

    And it is well deserved, it isn't as if his opponents haven't said enough with context to hang themselves with but the Romney people want to go that extra mile and be assholes about it. I think a jury would side with NBC.

    He's unconfomrotable with someone misrepresenting his words. Context matters, though not to people who make campaign commercials. He's sunk on copyright but in good shape for a libel case. Even fraud against the public.

    Using a short clip of a news program is fair use. But using the clip in a misleading way, such as making it appear a journalist is shilling for you is fraud. That's the angle NBC should be using. Romeny's campaign has has already had to deal with complaints about using clips out of context. In this case it's probably a tort.

    Those trackers still couldn't legally follow you onto private property. They still couldn't legally enter your car. In this case the police trespassed.

    Anyone who can gather enough signatures equal to or greater than 5% of the the vote in the last election for that office. For a newly created office 1% of the population of the area covered by that office.

    It isn't that they deserve a million dollars. It's that paying a million dollars might force the police to not be such assholes since nothing else seems to do it, might as well bankrupt them. remember folks, challenge qualified immunity.
