I wish I had some good mod points, you would get them. Well said! I think software developers may be due for a change in their approach. It gets frustrating that with each new game/application that it SEEMS they feel the need to push the hardware to it's limits. If I was the tinfoil hat type (ok I am, but try to keep it in check) I could imagine the developers (some, not all) were in cahoots with the hardware mfg.'s to keep turning boxes obsolete every 6 months. So now to run the newest games/apps you are pressured into neww hardware anually. Thank goodness I'm not that paranoid...yet.
Thanks for the info. Since then I built her a pc and
"hid" all of the shortcuts to IE, and replaced them all with firefox. Seems to be the end of the problem. I have set up the home net so that when I run anti-malware and anti-virus scans on my box, it also scans her pc. So far, so clean!
This past year has started me thinking that reincarnation IS possible. Some of you out there may remember the Sen. McCarthy/ J. Edgar Hoover "communist witch hunts" that through the public/nation in turmoil and MANY civil rights were bypassed due to The Red Menace(TM). I see almost the same tactics happening now, and am SPOOKED by it.
Kinda the same here. I triple boot: W98se for some old games I can't give up, XP Pro for some new games and software I run, and Mandrake 9.0 which I LOVE!:)
Being a nOOb caused some steep learning curves with *nix for me, but it gets better every day. BTW, since I switched to Firefox this summer, I seem to be fine running junk cleaners (AdAware & Spy Bot S&D) only monthly instead of DAILY (IE) and have only had ONE peice of junk come aboard. That one was my stepdaughter using my pc to "chat" once (she got to Yahoo with IE). Before with IE, my daily cleanings averaged around 25-30 malware programs. Unbeleivable!
Nah, the catabase server will be going down on the beach to tell that hot chick gettin' a tan to roll over and "smile at the birdie". This has nothing to do with terrorists, just some ole horndogs watching the chicks on the beaches.
Not hardly! If they keep dropping Features to get it out on time like they have been, it will only take 25TB, but because of all the "rush it out the door quick" bugs (and all the crap it will contract over a network) you will need 4GB mem
Brings new meaning to WarDriving, How about DriveBy/.ing , or driveby hacking! We would then have to redefine P2P (pontiac 2pontiac, pontiac 2 Peugot). What are we waiting for?
Yeah, I bet auto insurance companies would go apeshit about Rio Karma's in cars, all that running into bridges & buildings, etc. to un-stick the harddrive! They would be great tho' if you wanted tunes while you wrer in a demolition derby!
Just think, after this gets working, it won't be long before the interface taps into the "pleasure center" directly, and "tactile feedback" will be available....gotta go this reminded me of sumthin I NEEDED to do.....
I used Star Office, then was OO and I use that now. I have had FAR LESS hassle with these than any version of MS Office (O 95, O 97, O 2000, O XP, I have used them all). Until my last reformat/reinstall of my OS's, I have had both MS Office, and Open Office ( or Star Office depending on when) installed. This last time (about 11 months ago) I saw no reason to bloat my harddrive with MS Office, so didn't bother installing it. I have had zero problems or regrets over these 11 months, and STILL see no reason to install MS Office. Those 4 install discs of MS Office don't even make good coasters so all they do is collect dust. I love having a CHOICE about application software! Does it sve me $? No, not yet because I was foolish enough to be scared of compatibility, so Ive bought the PAST versions of MS Office. But the NEXT "flavor de jour" that MS comes out with won't get my hard earned $.
Realistically not MUCH difference. I wonder if they are paying ANY attention AT ALL to what hte are saying? I mean I would (in there position) have to reassess my position if I seriously thought there were enough detractors out there to OVERWHELM my site.

"I wonder where will THIS take us." Either the soup line, or prison most likely.
Better idea: Spam them with GOATSE wallpapers for their desktops. They want "IP", give em more than they can stand!

Somebody had to plow new ground? I'm with you...can't figure out the pattern myself.
Makes a dandy "smart" riding mower!

Sign me up. I'll be a "test monkey", but not a Scratch Monkey(TM)!
