Think outside of the brainwashing box. Quit thinking like a 'consumer', just inhaling what's force fed to you. We used to be 'customers'.
Use the concept provided and TRULY think about what would be a best fit for you, and make it happen.
The variations are almost endless for this problem. (hint: think of the 'writeup' as just a suggestion for one of the many solutions, not the one and only solution)
The internet is a vast treasure house of stupefying proportions for knowledge....the winnowing the wheat from the chaff can be a problem, though.
I suggest customer reviews, and a little research to deal with the chaff problem.
Do you have knowledgeable friends/acquaintances? Most would be glad to help you out with advice.
Break out of that 'consumer' (I picture cattle at a feedlot, being force-fed to gain weight for slaughtering for market) mentality, and start thinking like a free, independent individual, instead of part of the herd of consumers...a customer that wants a particular thing either for need or desire....based on your decision, not some marketing department, or ad agency
Even though I was just lurking, thanks for your comment and links.
This reminds me why I stay on/. after the 'Dice Circus', and why I set up an account back when, after lurking for a few years!
I have learned more about a lot of stuff by way of./ than I have in many classes/courses of study.
The diversity on subject matter, and expertise and level of knowledge, the 'out of the mouth of babes' moments,...it's all priceless, and justifies the statement that 'the internet has changed the world'.
Back on topic..... Thanks to you I now feel the need to retire my old 'nix box I've been using as a gateway between my cable modem and router for my home LAN.
It is becoming increasingly difficult and labor/time intensive to keep this crap out of my network.:-)
It struck me as rather odd that we seem to be quite willing to get mixed up in Syria Circus.
It's starting to sound like some crazy plot in a second or third rate book/movie.
"The shady gov't. in country X has developed a plan to recover it's ailing economy by way of contractors/mercenaries and the lucrative arms industry by ass-raping their citizens with taxes and regulatory fees, in order to plunge into yet another war. Can they keep running down the cliff-face and still survive the bottom? Thrills! Chills! Excitement! Watch/read and find out..."
Or there is just too much long term gain in keeping the Middle East stirred up.
I haven't figured out what the game is, but I smell something fishy, and am starting to sense a pattern.
We have been (and others) mucking about over there for decades.
We have been at two wars for over a decade at a combined cost of over one trillion US dollars, and now we are even thinking about a third war? WTF?
Afghanistan....rich in rare earth metals, and a few goats
Iraq....oil, and even more goats
Syria...not much oil, and declining goat population So, what exactly are we after here?
If it's goats we want, Mexico is much closer, and I'm sure they would even give us a good enough deal that we would not have to go to war with them.;-)
Reins would have been a better, or proper choice here. English can be tricky, due in part by the multitude of homophones.:-)
Now the pedantry is out of the way, I have to give you a tip of hat for your comment. With the trivial exception of 'reigns', you said it far better than I could have.
The US and UK have been mucking about in the whole of the Middle East since 1945.
We have caused most of our problems there.
We are to blame for Osama Bin Ladin. That's what struck me as ironic.
It's like Frankenstein's Monster run amok over there.
I'm not a christian, but this seems appropriate here: "Yea shall reap what yea sow." Or, something of that nature. That was my point...why do we have to impose our way of life on the unwilling? Just for cheap oil? That's obscene. We already know (for decades) that it would end. At the expense of 'next quarter profits' MBA mentality, we have fallen into our own trap.
Well, I beg to differ. A lot of the reason we ended up in Vietnam, was our perceptions of alliance treaties with France, and a 'we gotta stop the red tide at any costs!' mentality against 'communism'.
Iraq, well, we should not of went there for the reasons stated. Why did we not go there when Saddam was gassing the Kurds? (see:current US position on Syria)
We are still engaged in two wars(decade+, over 1 TRILLION DOLLARS!!!), and want to engage in a third?!?!!?? WTF?!
Hi from Stillwater! Don't bet the farm on a Fed vehicle, the description sounds like our own Tri-County Task Force, made up of all local law enforcement agencies.
There has been on ongoing trend in civil law enforcement to become more 'militarized' since 9/11 in the USA. It's starting to remind me of the rise of Nazi Germany. Not total, but just starting....
Are any of those reasons valid after they have been uploaded and spread around the internet? It HAS to be about retribution, and not secrecy. IT'S ON THE FRIKKING INTERNET ALREADY!!!
Why should we take responsibility for your choices and actions?
If you work with classified info, then you should know better than to let your curiosity rule over responsibility. 'Do you know how curiosity killed the cat?'
Not all of us are molded to think this way. Some of us prefer a more open and honest government that is truly ' by the people, for the people', as advertised!
I your case(and those similar/applicable), I will concede that the above was a bit harsh. I meant no insult...consider it a warning. (Hint: "Ignore the man behind the curtain."
Save the defensive arguments you may intend to reply with for Rosa Parks....in the alleged afterlife.
Outstanding! LOL I have to say, that's the best analogy I've ever heard on this subject. On the surface it seems so simple, but the subtle implications are truly astounding.
He knows what is going on upstairs,...
And nobody talks about what is going on in the basement....$52.6 bn USD worth of something. Those that break that rule usually have to flee the country. That from a country allegedly ruled 'by the people, for the people'. What people? Not me!
Bin Laden won a decade ago. It strikes me as ironic that we kill him just before public awareness that we lost has just started sinking in slowly to the masses.
I have to side with the AQHA on this, if for no other reason than the lineage/pedigree 'family tree' would get unwieldy and chaotic fairly quickly. IMHO, that would diminish the benefits of registering a horse with the AQHA, and cause major disruption.
Not to mention, after a certain point, many folks would start to speculate on what else was happening during the cloning process....as in genetic manipulation. That's just the nature of folks that aren't educated/knowledgeable in that area of science. I remember the recent spectacle of the world ending this past December just because that was the last date on an ancient Mayan calender.
I well and truly understand that.
I'm just not convinced that's a universal motive in these things.
Hmmmm...I give up.
Why, or why not?
Wait, is this a trick question?
Thanks for the reply. :-)
What my motive was....stirring up the mud puddle in order to start some interesting debate/comments.
If I had a realistic chance to go to Europa or Mars, I would probably jump on it.
I've always been one of those that just HAD to see what was over the next hill.
Wow, the second voluntary exodus plan to emerge recently.
It seems to make a statement about Earth, when thousands seem eager to make a one way trip to their probable deaths, to leave this planet.
Now, what that statement actually means is open to interpretation...
Is there an Android version of 'noscript', or 'requestpolicy'?
Disclaimer: :-)
I don't own, or desire, a cell phone, but both of these do well on my desktop with Firefox. (dual-boot: Win7 and Kubuntu 12.04)

*Stands up clapping and cheering!*
Thank you for that most succinct, cogent, and insightful jewel!
Outstanding!
Standing ovation* :-)
I plan on using that concept in the future for these types of discussions.
A Spy Antenna will look like one of these two antenna images.
And, they pick up EVERYTHING but your dirty socks!! Even encrypted stuff that is Top Secret!!!! ;-)

Thanks.
I still don't see anything stuck to my magnet.
She has had her own flesh implanted outside her pelvis.
So, she is now like a kangaroo, with a pouch?
What's next? Cloning drop bears?!?!?
Cylindrical planet?
I was always taught it was spherical, and all of NASA
has pics to back this up.
Cylindrical planet? Is it a pipe, or a column? Inquiring minds want to know.
Let's hope it reigns in some of this nonsense.
No! They are already trying to act as kings.
reigns: something a king or emperor does
reins: straps used to control horses and such
Reins would have been a better, or proper choice here. :-)

There are lots of reasons for that.

Well done, PPH...Very well done.
I noticed two things right away when I read TFA:
1. The article has them traveling nose to tail- not nose to nose.
2. According to TFA, the robots have 180 degree vision, not the summary stated 360.
I have finally figured out why the statue holding 'the scales of justice' wore a blindfold! ;-)
Counting hits on Google isn't exactly a reliable way to measure truth,
That is an excellent point, but sadly it plays right into that 'truthiness' nonsense that seems so popular lately.
