    I don't think so.. Maybe it would work for organizing a couple of hundred things, but 100k things? I just don't see it.

    I'm thinking more about population growth rate, living space and use of resources. Not to mention the disparity between rich and poor.

    As big as these problems are, like all problems, they have solutions. Imagine if we had Einstein (and 50 others like him) still alive to apply to the task of solving them...

    RAM prices fluctuate too much for this to be succesful. CPU integration makes sense, although again, the price drops quickly enough for you to be left with a platform that's far overpriced in just a few months.

    If you give it a brightly colored case and market it effectively, you would be able to get that same $100 for it for at least a couple of years. Just look at the iPod...

    How about CRM type software like GoldMine, ACT! or even Exchange? Granted it's business related but it does serve to community-ize the calendars and address books of co-workers and open a special kind of group-collaboration avenue...
