Yep, back a page and down one article. Ubuntu has been a great laptop disto. For all the problems reported with Dells it worked (wireless too) out of the box.
I'll quickly mention here that Debian did not suffer the same fate as the others; congrats to the Debian development team.
Since this is an "ancient" compromise would the reason it didn't affect Debian have anything to do with this.
