Is M$ becoming a mass copy store...First Firefox (for IE7.0) then Apple OS X (for Vista) and now Apache (for IIS).
Are they going out of business of innovation?
I can tell you for sure that M$ developers spent a lot of time studying features in FireFox.
I can hardly see anything which is not already available in FireFox
"You know what I found? Right in the kernel, in the heart of the operating system, I found a developer's comment that said, 'Does this belong here?' "Lok says. "What kind of confidence does that inspire? Right then I knew it was time to switch."
Guess what? The next developer who looks at this piece of code will actually start thinking and making it better rather than just assuming that everything is 100% perfect.
I wonder if Lok is a successful businessman or just a wanna-be whiz-kid (whiz-businessman,whatever) who just jumps to whatever seems exciting to him.
I pity him:)
Please do!
Open source does not need people who are not willing to put up some effort in fixing bugs for open source software (or at least be patient and wait for the fix)
Go back to your beloved IE which still has multiple outstanding issues for well over last 4 years
Happy Browsing:-)
At least this gives me the oppurtunity to filter out results from a resultset:)
Being a DBA , I know how powerful it is to sort and drill-down on the results which you get
Hope they expand and improve it. Also, wait until Google comes up with something similar
I believe this is just a rant from M$ which is now feeling really threatened by Google.
For the first time M$ does not seem to have any answer to Google's increasing threat and dominance of the market simply because Google does not depend on the OS installed on the machine. All you need is an Internet connection and you are ready to use Google. Until M$ comes up with something to tie down Google with, keep yourself ready to read more of such messages coming from the higher echelons of Redmond
Firefox coz it provides just what I need and nothing more. If I need to install stuff that I like, I can install extensions.
It is also not tied into the OS so I have no problem getting rid of it, if I want to.
Lastly, the security hole patching cycle is pretty impressive , one example being just last week.
I quit my first job because I felt that I was not growing professionally into it, which directly meant that my chances of looking for new jobs(If and when the time for that was right) were getting slim. You need to enjoy your job over a period of time (that's how I measure it). So I ask my self every 3-4 months: what is it new that I have learnt in terms of my job. It may be something as small as learning to use the.NET Datagrid or a full fledged jump in terms of responsibilities.
I think that you should have stayed put with your new employer(you said they were offering you to stay) and should have seen how things go from there. If still you were unsatisfied, only then you should have left your job.
Just my 2 cents:)
I wrote my first Computer program on a Toshiba Laptop , using the GBASIC language(1995). It was a simple addition routine and I still rememeber it:)
LET a = 1
LET b = 2
LET c = a + b
PRINT c
Immediately after that I got a copy of MathCAD (I think it was version 3 or 4) and rigth away started solving my maths problems on it. That started the fascination with Computers
There is no looking back since then.
As for the question as to how Kids can learn Programming Languages, I think the biggest issue is where to start? If you start teaching them something like Visual BASIC then you right away run into the problem of teaching them how the GUI works, how to use he widgets etc. etc.
I would probably start by using something as simple as HTML.It may not be the best way but at least it gives the KID the right thing to play with.

Kindly tell us the EXACT figure for the area which is covered by the rugged terrians and nearly impassable mountains ?
Pakistan isn't exactly known for having hospitable terrain.
Have you been there? Or are you just believing the same media which hyped up the Iraq war?
Any new on latest FireFox vulnerabilites? Have they been patched?

This is indeed a heaven-sent for OpenOffice.org people. Now they will not be working against a moving target anymore :)

So we should then have a "true" version of WinLinux :D
Why don't they use the other rover to push this one out of the sand dune?

Its really funny to see how much the Fibbies are "over-reacting". Life in States now is to constantly look over ones shoulder..... what a curse
