    No... it shows what some California Beureaucrat thinks of California citizens.

    The CA gov't has a thousand different opinions of it's citizens... some are good, some are bad.

    But either way, you should talk to your state senator about the lame California Beureaucrats.

    The plant takes selenium (which is bad for other plants,) out of the soil, and the plant can be used for feed, since animals need selenium in their diets.

    Selenium is only good in small amounts. It's already very common in plant foods from most regions (depending on the selenium content of the soil), so added Selenium isn't usually needed.

    If too much Selenium makes it into your food, via "Selenium-fortified mustard" or via the food chain, you'll get sick.

    I'm curious if the Mustard plant takes in additional amounts of minerals other then Selenium, and if those levels are safe.

    You forgot the best part about many web forums. The post itself may only be one word like 'Bump!', but the .sig is 2 inches high with 5 blinking gifs of a woman's tits.

    If it's a well-designed web forums, you can turn off .sigs , but you need to do that for every friggen web forum.

    4 line sigs! 4 LINE SIGS!! JUST USE A SMALL SIG!!! Arggg.....,

    That's not even the worst part, the fact it takes 12 hours for what you say to show up, and by then you have gotten 30 replies.

    That's wierd. Usually when I post via Google Groups, my post is there a few minutes later.

    Are you talking about the time that it takes for the article to be propogated to other NNTP servers? That's been a problem with some Usenet server since the beginning :)

    Attitudes like yours are exactly why I like to live in a multicultural area.

    Why would I want to be surrounded by lilly-white cultureless inbred motherfucker such as yourself when I could have the art, song, food, ideas and culture from around the world within a few miles from my house.

    Diversity is great. Eatonville gets old in 1 day.

    Its rather nasty outside right now in Oakland.

    It's all relative. There isn't any snow, blizzards or power outages. Just heavy rain.

    And didn't you enjoy the nice sunny weather the last two weekends?

    I really like it when it's the high 70s on Christmas, so I can taunt the relatives back home.

    These "Officials" are Joan Borucki, the director of California DMV.

    So please correct me if I'm wrong, but the DMV doesn't much authority in terms of road financing. They focus on the licensing of vehicles, smog checks, etc. and they collect some funds which end up in the state's general fund.

    But they have no voice in determining how the roads are funded. The roads in California are funded by numerous sources: DMV fees, gasoline taxes, non-gasoline sales taxes, local taxes, state taxes, federal taxes, etc.

    Director Borucki support for this idea is polticial support only.

    Or maybe I'm wrong...

    This article smells of Sensationalism. Note the lack of detail in the article.

    Officials in car-clogged California are so worried they may be considering a replacement for the gas tax altogethe

    Who are these "Officials"? The Governor of California? A low-level bereaucrat? There are plenty of low-level bereaucrat in sector 7-G who consider ideas which never really materialize.

    Changing the tax structure at this level in California or Oregon would require some approval by the State sentate and legistlature.

    Smells of sensationalism ...

    Sounds simple, doesn't it? Firefox was able to do it, let see if, given enough time Microsoft can do the same

    Unlikely--- IE has been out for years and years and hasn't had sufficient standards compliance, and has had too many security issues.

    MS keeps patching the browser to address security issue after security issue, but it seems like there are some underlying problems which MS refuses to fix.

    Given enough *motivation*, Microsoft might fix the underlying issues.

    That took less than a minute to find at the mozilla extensions website and I won't have to put up with the extra Yahoo bloat.

    But the Bookmarks Synchronizer, but it requires a FTP/WebDav server. Since I don't have one of those readily available, I can't use the extension.

    I'm just testing out the Yahoo Toolbar right now, and the bookmark syncronization is a pretty nifty feature. I don't really use Bookmarks any more because I work on 4 different computers and it's a pain to keep them in sync.

    So in otherwords, you are nowhere close to the user experience, yet you feel qualified to tell us what we should and should not do with our browser.

    I think you'll do better managing the networks.

    No you can't. How do you keep the Bookmarks on there different computers in sync without running your own FTP/WebDav server?

    How about getting Yahoo Mail notifications without going to mail.yahoo.com? It's very handy for me. Pretty soon I can see them adding alerts for my Calendar, which would be quite useful.

    My choice? Not buy music...

    There is always an alternative. Many smaller and fringe musicians, groups and labels have nothing to do with the RIAA or any sort of DRM. Alternative computer OS's will never force DRM upon you.

    In my opinion, many of the non-mainstream groups produce better music. At the very least, their music is different, unique, and new to my ears. New is good.

    If you want to listen to the Beastie Boys or Christina Agulera you'll have to deal with DRM. But there are always alternatives.

    Couldn't you say the same thing about word processors in general? Nobody *needs* a word processor. People just need to learn how to write correctly and legibly.

    I use a word processor and grammar checker because it makes my life easier. That's what computers are supposed to do.

    I dare say, the grammar checker is the one thing that keeps me on MS Office. Fixing my stupid wording wording mistakes as i type along is incredibly valuable. Spell check is great, but I really want the grammar checker also.

    It's so transparent in Word (And it works in Outlook 2003 now) that most people barely even notice it, and would really start to miss it when it is gone.

    Napster you have zero songs
    iTunes you have 360 songs, that will play on your PC or Mac or, iPod.


    I wonder wow long it will be until Napster's DRM is cracked. Then you'd have thousands of songs for the price of the subscription.

    ok fine, I screwed up the names. I don't actually use the program.

    The fact still remains that removing "Windows Messenger" via "Control Panel: Add/remove programs: Add/remove Windows components" doesn't remove C:\Program Files\Messenger .
