i know a friend that did this in hs but never got charged, because he did it for passwords--and the teacher didn't know anything about computers really.
but then again, if the claims are true in general, isn't this like what apple did in times, to get their OS out the door? probably not to the same extent, i'm just rambling. but i've been wondering about EA over the past few years.. when i look at ads for Target or other shopping places, i see a lot of the console games with the blue EA logo on them, like a monopoly
i agree with you. i don't like how the politics of this type of hate had been so prevalent nearing, and up until, elections this year.
i go to a university on the west coast, so in the populous areas, there are a lot of democrat-registered voters, etc. i don't mind that at all, but what i have hated to be around, and have been INTIMIDATED by, is the liberal mentality you touched on in your comment, which is just hate! so, i'm glad the elections are done for now, but i think it is getting a bit out of hand, with the groupthink that has gone on lately:/ just the thoughts of a meager college student
the mac os x crashing bit is weird.. i wonder what is being used as far as software, both for the OS and whatever else is running on it. the laptop i used running the latest version of mac os x (server) did not have any major problems that i remember.. i would say "no problems" but i can't remember if there were or not. suffice to say.. the laptop had an uptime of 40 days, before i gave it a rest, and shut it down. during the whole summer, there wasn't a point where the machine crashed and had to be restarted.. i was surprised
ah, yes, good point.. we do use some linux boxes where i worked, and they worked seamlessly for what we were using them for.. mostly LDAP-related things for students, etc.
i agree with you about the uptime and stability of linux, and *nix-based OSes... i tend to just use windows for design-related things now.. and even so, i did a lot of that on my temporary ibook during the summer.
i guess one of the issues is cost.. between OS X and linux.. i guess operating costs or whatever will mean that using anything in the workplace will cost something.. if not time
what's the deal? my summer internship (a school district) uses macs like crazy.. of my experience (and i know, it is not very much) mac os x has, by far, been the most stable OS i have had to use in the workplace. i'm not sure why it would go away so suddenly.

i don't like the whole idea of "loyalty" cards..
i agree with you.

um, i'm not sure how this is offtopic, as mac os x is one of the central items in the story.
i still like my mac os x
