But then again on the other side, there are alot of countries where having a credit card is a pretty rare sight independant of age, simply because there's little use for them.
Takes one to know one, I suppose. Looking at what Frank Abagnale did to improve security against bank fraud, I'm sure that a 'black hat' turned good could be of some use to a company.
I think you're right, people don't care about support from Microsoft. They care for support from the people that make applications. If the latest stuff would be able to run on Windows 98 without hassle, there would be virtually no reason to upgrade to XP. Unfortunately, none of the latest stuff does, and by now, Linux has more to choose from than Windows 98, and that could be a reason for people to switch.
1984? Of Mice and Men? These aren't books that any sane person would ban, even if some private schools ran by fools do so, it's going to be availible in every library.
Upload books that have been banned for a "good" reason, like Mein Kampf, and this could actually be interesting.
He's capped out multiple characters in World of Warcraft, but in reality, has nothing to show for it aside from a hole in his bank account and a slightly bigger imaginary e-penis.
Actually, MMORPGs are the only games that have the potential to not cost you anything. After playing since the (european) launch, I sold my account a few months ago and just about broke even with the original price + monthly fees. The game itself may become worth less but the characters make up for that.
The sad thing is, since a year or so almost none of the new software developed supports Win98 anymore. One of the main reasons I installed Linux, nothing (new) will run on either so I might aswell use the better of the two.
Yes? How hard is it to realize that paying $15/mo for (similar) entertainment is a better option than shelling out $50 every few weeks?
Not really, you're comparing it with new games. Considering that most MMORPGs have been out for a while already, try comparing the price with a game that's been out for a few years already. $15/mo or 3 $5 games? I know I'm currently opting for the latter.

Now, imagine if instead the difficulty only went up slightly but your means of defeating these ememies were reduced more and more as you rpogressed through the game. Not only would you be able to play with all the cool weapons right from the start, but you would also have more challenging game play.
The main problem with this is, having alot of options is also part of the increased difficulty scale towards the end of the game. More weapons to choose from to handle a certain situation, more moves you're able to execute.
Do you really want to start the game with the main character being a fit guy in his twenties with dozens of different abilities and end as a senile 80 year old that can barely walk?
Blue Gene/L is one step in IBM's ongoing project to build a machine by 2007 that can perform a quadrillion calculations per second--a "petaflop." The task of the ultimate Blue Gene computer will be to predict the folding of proteins, the large biological molecules that are assembled from genetic information encoded in DNA.
So they're gonna run Folding@HOME on it? Seriously though, I hope they're gonna take the work done by the Folding@HOME project into account rather than redo all of it. That would feel like kicking them in the dirt and not taking it seriously.
As someone who promotes the use and development of open-source, do you really feel that in this stage of consumer awareness the best approach is to make an open-source OS?
Many average consumers will not want to take the step away from Windows, even if they hate it. Would it not be wiser to focus on easier markets, such as browsers and office suits for example?
Ideally, wouldn't it be best to help out excisting projects like OpenOffice.org and Firefox with their development?
For some reason, people tend to forget that they are playing an MMORPG - and if it's set in another time, then expect the game to realistic if the creators want that.
If you play a WW2 MMORPG, expect a Jewish character to get shit from nazi NPC's.
In a couple of decades the world will thank such countries as India and China for their initiatives. The US hasn't got the sole right to space travel - and thank god. It's not like NASA is all that cost-efficient either.
And besides, if other countries take over the role of space explorers, maybe the states can start paying off their huge debts.
If I had Bill Gates' fortune this is the thing I would do. Get back to the Moon, establish a small base, restart the Orion program from there, mine the outer planets for He3, go to the stars. Would $40B be enough? I don't know. It's the most responsible thing to do if we want to survive as a species.
Yeah, and this Earth thing we have here is losing it's novelty after so many years. Let's get going!

So whenever a paged is messed up in FF I should assume it's because the author intended it to be so? Webmasters are an evil bunch, I knew it.
Ever heared of a guy named Fatal1ty?
Has a motherboard with his name attached to it coming out soon. The guy plays FPS, not SC.

As long as it's safely contained, does it matter where we store it? For all I care they dump it somewhere in the ocean, enough room there anyway.
