You have it backwards. In European cultures, marriage was a religious institution first. It wasn't later when the government got involved and civil marriages came into existence.
Where did you get that? That's not what the article said at all. Or are you a self proclaimed expert on all matters religion and brain and just pulled that out of your ass?
No, that's not what the article said. The calming effect of prayer (which you guys are claiming is equivalent to meditation) was just one aspect that they noted. Read the article before you get on your high horse.
Spoken like a true Windows-cluebag. 1) If you give them regular user privileges on Linux, they can't trash the OS. 2) The next version of windows is going back to the 'traditional look and feel' so forcing them to adapt is retarded. 3) We know that's you Steve Ballmer, go back to your forced retirement.
I have moved several parents to Linux with Mint. The XFCE edition is the most windows like (especially if you select the Redmond theme) that I have found. Email, web-browsing and solitaire all work so they are happy.
"I don't think you can blame the parents for "fucking over" the donor: it's the Kansas Department for Children and Families that has brought the case, and the recipients of the funds may not have a say in the matter."
That's probably not completely true. The state just wants [it's] money [back?] and could care less at where it comes from. If the 'other mother' would pay it, I'm sure the state would be happy.
What probably happened, is that the 'other mother' either said "I'm a performance artist and I only make $5K a year" or she said "Not mine, don't care, not legally married" and left the state on the hook for the bill. THAT'S probably why they went after the only person that they could 100% pin the creation of the kid on.
So wait, why isn't the 'other mother' paying instead? What about equal rights [responsibilities] and all that? OH RIGHT, that's only when it doesn't cost anything.

I have 3 POTS coming to my house to feed my 'vintage' 551 KSU. I guess I win the nerd-off in this thread.
Because it works well (especially in emergencies) but isn't a cash cow.

Have fun with your statistically worse life.

POTS is simple and much more resilient than VOIP so, let's get rid of it. VOIP is a MESS, way to go FCC!

It's probably a ship much older than 150 years.... I'd check for the remains of telephone sanitizers and other useless people.

You've never seen my Assembly... You would take that statement back!
So, what you're saying is that the C compiler is better Assembly coder than you are. I feel your pain on that one.
This is the biggest FUD out there about Slackware.... You want automatic dependency resolution? USE DAWNRAZOR'S SBOTOOLS

Pot meet kettle. Where's your facts in your empty post?
Pot meet kettle. Your comment had no facts in it.
That's as brilliant as storing gasoline in pockets in body panels of the car. One fender bender could cause huge problems.
