Or, for a less pessimistic viewpoint, those people want to listen in to that music before buying it, but don't want to burden nin.com's servers for that privilege.
Would you like it better when people actually bought a copy before realizing it sucks?
I don't see how Vista piracy does MS much good at this point. People computer savy enough to crack it won't stick with it, and the rest won't buy it unless forced to (by its market domination, >2GB RAM, new hardware, etc.).
Seems to me, for the time being at least, we're pretty much safe from Vista.
I guess a lot XBoxes that get sent in for repair have paint or stickers covering the case in a way that decreases airflow, causing it to overheat.
As another poster pointed out, the consoles are repaired by badly paid assembly line workers, who're supposed to blindly follow instructions. Assembly line workers usually lack education, so the instructions must be kept simple - instead of 'remove any paint/stickers obstructing airflow', it probably says 'remove any paint/stickers'.
In most cases, removing paint and stickers probably is more cost-efficient than replacing the case, and those assembly line slaves aren't going to argue - why would they, they're treated badly, and most likely don't care about their employers finances.
It does not "rock". Not in any conceivable sense of the word.
It may, at some point in the future (I'd guess in around 2 or 3 years), when some of the stuff they dreamed up actually gets implemented, but not now.
'kay, so it's not as funny as I thought it was.
Not having travelled Eastern Europe very much, I only ever heard that name from people that lived in the GDR.
Problem solved. If anything it might be BETTER that way, as you don't have players obsessing over their real-life favorite team, distorting their decisions in-game. Why would that be better? I'm generally ignorant of sport games, an spectator sports as such, but I guess an EA sports game would be well balanced, so it wouldn't really matter which team you choose. In which case being able to just choose your real-life favorite team would be an advantage.
As far a I know, those EA sport games are sold in such huge numbers because they cater to the largest possible audience. It's supposed to be a pickup-and-play thing, not something where you have to study each team's stats for hours when choosing the best team for your playing style.
There may be a market for that kind of sport game, but I'm pretty sure it's significantly smaller.
And that's a bad thing?
I click those malicious links out of curiosity, I guess many people do. It's not like increased traffic to one of those sites are doing anyone any good, or is it?
Anyways, I enjoy looking at what 'malicious' javascript games those kids come up with.
What ever the true nature of "Ask Slashdot" questions may be - I find that the discussions they spawn to be most interesting.
Maybe even the most interesting part of slashdot.org.
Most POS in Germany are DOS based, and I'm pretty sure Konzum's POSs would be too if they didn't use Linux.
So, no real savings on licenses. Must be another reason behind it.
It's pretty funny btw, that your largest supermarket chain has the same name as the only supermarket chain the GDR had.
I'd say there're little aliens in your power supply, blowing a self repairing fuse whenever the load approaches a certain treshold.
Get an alien-free PSU, or one with a higher treshold.
Of course you could also reduce the load...o(a case light, gee)
That too, but the main reason were those annoying pilots that love that andrenalin rush a bit too much and kept blowing the windows of the refueling planes.
The summary states that "The crash [...] was the most expensive single aircraft accident in history. (The planes cost $1.2B each.)".
Of course it's going to spawn discussions about military spending.
Are those people that annoying where you're from?
In my town they're fun. They come in groups of three or four, provide a little show (mostly juggling with strange objects) and do an okay job cleaning the windshield.
In another, highly mercantile, town I've lived for a while they skip the show and sell useful stuff like little electric fans and maps.

Because saying "lowest ever value against the euro" implies to mean more than it really does, given that the Euro is a relatively new currency.
He cited, no, plagiarized my book "Shit I Made Up About the Soviet Shipping Industry"!

Hours? Where'd you get that figure?
Last I heard it was a big deal when someone published that RAM keeps its data for a few minutes of no power..
Really? I take it you don't pay like 16 Euro cents per kw/h electricity, huh?

How do you play Golden Eye 64 in high res?

Yeah, the guy further up with his larger amount of arrays, each one a little bigger than the last.

Don't get it. Know nothing about latin, but manus = hand, manual; rea = accused...?
Huh?
I thought the amount of words per page was appropriate.
Also, they apparently provide a print version. What are you ranting about?
"Alright, I'm a delivery boy!"
Hm, I think at least the bird/insect problem are common enough in Italy for them to have considered it when designing that windshield.

Thought there was a point to those SI units..
