My showers both have a thermostatic valve on them that passively adjusts water pressure coming in from the hot and cold lines ensuring that consistent amounts of hot and cold water come through the shower head despite variations in main-line pressure. That valve is the prior art.
There is nothing artificial about a price that enough people will pay to make it worthwhile to the company providing the services/goods for sale. A free market doesn't work on the principle of one person or even a few people whining about the price of a service setting the price lower. Yes, if you don't like a price point and also cannot afford it, but enough other people can afford it and pay it, your poor little plight will not directly impact free market. Heck, even when there are NOT enough people who want to buy a service or good to make it profitable for a company that doesn't mean it will IMMEDIATELY be reduced in price. Free market doesnt' mean instant gratification, even for a super majority. It still beats ACTUALLY artificial prices being set by "societal needs" and other such B.S.
The people who came here to complain about a price point for a service as if they're being mandated to buy it aren't going to listen to any manner of common sense. I must be insane because I keep coming into discussions thinking maybe there won't be so many people crying how the world owes them a living.
So, the internet would be a pretty lame place if it didn't have search giants like Google, Bing and Yahoo pulling the content of the internet together into an index that you can search. Yes, there are ways to get your website known without search engines. People learned about new sites by word of mouth for the most part early on. People would commonly put links to sites that they had found useful on their personal web pages. Then places like yahoo started to pop up aggregating links on a larger scale. This all eventually lead to search engines that provide nearly real time results with fairly high accuracy. This has increased the pace of information dissemination via the internet by many orders of magnitude. It has helped the internet become the information superhighway that we have today. In fact, I would say big search engines are THE reason we have a thriving internet today. I have little doubt the world wide web would be a floundering niche that few, in any, news companies would spend any time or money utilizing if it wasn't for big search engines. Let's compare how much money one of those french news sites spends creating the content they create to the money Google spends making sure that as you type each letter you instantly see hundreds of results matching what you've entered INCLUDING news released minutes ago. I'm sorry, but to me, Google provides a far more critical side to the symbiotic relationship, even if the content side could exist without it.
When you put it that way, it almost seems like an act of war. Given that it is France, U.S. should oblige and land some troops. Should all be over in a matter of minutes and we'll have their unconditional surrender and this silly law will disappear.
modded funny but man I HAD to take some 101 and even 201 level courses for my major (no test out or highschool replacements allowed) that were, for me, barely even Highschool level courses. Couldn't get an exemption, but regardless...the point was they were basically second chance highschool courses.
Except for the part where it says "enabling any surface to act as a touch screen". That's from the PDF...which I was terribly annoyed that I had to open to read the actual details, but that is beside the point. They say "any surface" and while they don't specifically say "we've conquered the issue of transparent and otherwise not-visually distinct surfaces" ANY does imply that it would work and it's fair to assume that they don't mean it works on any surface, but some surfaces suck.
Distance running can be one of the places where what appears to be a healthy person ends with a heart attack. Keep up the exercise, but definitely be sure to have regular check ups with your Doc.
Because of three things. First, how quickly they came out with it being caused by the video belied their supposed inability to get the details of the truth that later came out from sources other than them. Second, how they clung to the video supposedly causing both the protests and the attacks despite having all evidence against it. Third, even if the attackers did watch the youtube video and then decide to launch an impromptu attack on the embassy in response, the administration focused on the video rather than the attack and its true cause, which would be intolerance for free speech. And that last one is if the video had anything to do with it...which it didn't...and the administration knew that....despite what Obama, Biden, and the rest of their cabinet have publicly stated. And you'll see that more and more as the inquiry progresses.
No freakin' kidding. I came here to post basically this, but because I've had to do it too many times here and explaining it in person, I'm just going to reply to you and say EXACTLY. While I'm fine with the topic being repeatedly broached to show how stupid the demands are tocurtail free speech that is "intolerant", I get really )@$%)#*ing tired of it being posted as if the youtube video actually did spark violence. I don't understand why, starting with our glorious leaders lying about it, so many people have refused to give up that clearly false pretense. It's not like they haven't had enough time to realize they were wrong and change course. Which means they have some other agenda to push. Be it trying to make Barack Obama and his administration not look so stupid/deceitful or to push the agenda of the muslim brotherhood, it's just BS.
And now we all can see why "THE VIDEO" was relentlessly trotted out as the cause of the violence. I guarantee you that if you track down who it was in every administration who pushed the idea that "THE VIDEO" was the cause of the violence when they knew better, you'd have yourself a collection of Sharia plants. People whose goal it is for Sharia law to be the law of the world and who have infiltrated all major governments of the world at various levels.
As a forum to bring together countries to discuss global level issues it's a great idea. As a governing body being used to try to create global law, it is a terrible idea. On the up side, it does let idiots like these guys show exactly what they're trying to accomplish when so many of their apologists have tried to water down the true goals of their actions.
There is a larger picture, but it doesn't include THE VIDEO as any substantial portion. As the article states, Youtube was blocked long before that video was release. The Iranian government hasn't actually stated why the block of gmail was put in place. Just some news agency speculation. Later they mention how Iranian government is well known for having blocked any sites that express anti-government sentiments.
Now while the article says there has been no official reason given for the gmail block, later a rep from their Telecom committee in charge of doing these things said it was an unintended part of a further attempt enhance the Youtube block that was already in place. Again, the Youtube block preceded THE VIDEO.
I can't speculate on what they were really trying to accomplish, but it is clear to me that news article used the popularity of THE VIDEO just to be more topical. It had nothing to do with it.
The video did not cause gmail to be blocked any more than the video caused terrorist attacks against US embassies. This is getting ridiculous. I mean, yes we joke that Iranian government is terribly inept, but would they really be so thick as to think blocking gmail had any meaningful impact on those who created/supported the video? The video is just serving as a gigantic red herring. More likely Iran had a real purpose behind the brief blockade, and throwing "The Video" out there as a reason is an attempt to distract from that reason.
No, it wasn't clearly made to do anything. And the people who actually KNOW what caused the violence versus the protests actually know the video was just a planted red herring. Which should be obvious from how quickly it supposedly was exposed as the cause...as in so early that they were reporting it as the cause before they even knew officially that the ambassador had been killed.

It is not a monopoly. Stop saying that.

woooosh

Yes and if everyone was amoral then no one would care if anyone was raping and murdering everyone in sight. But what a great idea....
Check out the PDF article's first billed person for a secondary laugh along these lines...

maybe they could regular the "import" part of it...but you're right. F U if you think you can lay jurisdictional claim to the entire universe.

I'd be okay if they dragged themselves all the way up to the 21st century, but I suppose 20th is a good start.
Nope
Rather...it's not something anyone owes you.
That just means you may have to choose a job that you can afford to work at, still not a right.

that part just creeped me out. not sure why but the idea of eating gems like grapes bothered me...
