  1. Nothing to do with the grind on The State of Security in MMORPGs · · Score: 1

I'm sorry, but you guys who think that people cheat because of the grind are mistaken. People cheat in all games, even games without grinds. Cheats have been part of many games, secret codes or button combinations used to unlock cheat features. Well MMO's and online games in general dont have those. People cheat in online shooters because they want to win, people do the same thing in MMOs. They want to win, and they want to win quick. They dont want to work to achieve something, they want to be with the top players, right away. Either through getting leveled, buying credits to purchase items or using god hacks to be unstoppable. The problems with hacks in multiplayer games, is that they affect everyone. Where as in single player games, it's only the person playing. They will never be stopped entirely, but making cheaters easier to detect and then dealing them a costly blow by banning their account, and hitting them where it hurts. The wallet.

  2. Endless respawn madness on Call of Duty 4 Review · · Score: 2, Insightful

One of the things that killed the replay value for me, is the NPC spawns are endless. No matter how many you kill, they will keep popping until you pass certain areas of the map. This unnatural prompt to move forward, coupled with the lack of being able to fire effectively from behind cover is what turns this into an arcade shooter more than a real world combat shooter.

  3. Who do we blame for the locks on our doors? on Inventor of Proxy Firewall Blames Hackers · · Score: 1

Who do we blame if we leave our house door unlocked. Do we blame the intruder or ourselves for being so trusting. In a perfect world, we could trust everyone we see. hahaha. wake up charlie!

  4. Drowned in a sea of viruses. Not I. on Why Does Windows Still Suck? · · Score: 1

I am virus and spyware free, and so is my entire network. There is so much out there designed to take advantage of windows useability. Then take over. Though most of this nasty software is installed due to users input. If linux was more user friendly to the beginner, people would complain its too restrictive, then after a while, new gadgets would be included in the OS and people would be exploiting it. Eventually it always comes down to the user. Having the right protection and checking your own system from time to time.
