Im happy he came forward with this information but at the same time, with T-Mobile's recent multi billion dollar deal, it reeks. Did he threaten Tmobile to go public with this information unless they paid up?
Not only that, the entire article is spam. Listing the "related stories" 6 times...I've stopped going to digg ever since they let the spammers run wild and Rose's censoring, now it seems like I have to stop coming here to Slashdot.
Enigmail adds OpenPGP message encryption and authentication to your email client. It features automatic encryption, decryption and integrated key management functionality. Enigmail requires GnuPG (www.gnupg.org) for the cryptographic functions. Note: GnuPG is not part of the installation.
They're hiding behind "national security" for an excuse not to go forward with the case, the Supreme Court needs to step in and do its job.
It's mind boggling how just about anything that the Federal Government Agencies don't want the public to see, hide behind this excuse and usually get their way..
The ability to call upon such protection should be regulated and restricted, but when's the last time Congress did anything positive for us citizens?
It'll only be destiny if they make it right, nobody but business clients are going to pay 500 dollars for a phone, UNLESS it has mp3 capabilities and big storage like the ipod does, but it's gonna be hard to cram a phone and decent sized hard drive into a small unit, and make all of this a quality product(apple has been falling behind on quality on the ipods). On top of that, only Cingular carries it? They're going up a hill, but I'm not going to damn them before the product even comes out.
We will see.
an adult section on youtube is unrealistic and clashes with google's understanding that nobody likes to pay for things online. and without a credit card to verify someone's age for porn, it's not going to happen.
google/youtube just simply needs to get more tv networks and whatnot onboard. But the deal maker is to get ALL music videos online, not just current "hip" ones that the kids are watching today but as many as possible.
Replays of old tv shows would be great, even current tv shows could make a deal that youtube could have their shows a week or two later, kind of the same setup sendmail has, actual tv viewers get the latest, but computer tv viewers have to wait. So tv networks don't lose their audience if they decide to go online because the stuff online wouldn't be the latest episodes.
"Hard to pin down a source on this. The article cites another blog, which points to an article in Japanese."
Stop promoting blogspam in the first place.
Because the Sorenson VP allows deaf people to assign a phone number to it. So users can just dial the number directly to whoever they want to talk to that also has the same unit.
The quality on web based video chatrooms/clients is also not very good, not sufficient for real time sign language. The Sorenson VP is free as well, so some deaf users might simply not have a webcam but they can get this unit for free.
Sign language is much faster obviously, and sign language is based alot on the user's emotions and how they use a certain sign or signs.
But to answer the parent's question, none of the cell phone carriers offer a price break for deaf/hard of hearing users.
BUT the deaf community is fond of using the t-mobile sidekick, all versions, because of the relatively cheap unlimited txt/data plan that comes with it. Sidekicks are almost dominant among deaf people. Some deaf tech sites and companies offer the sidekicks significantly cheaper to deaf users since it is so popular among them.
Plants absorb c02 as they grow, and they can definitely absorb more than what's needed to mature, resulting in bigger/higher yields of product. The only thing is you'd need to plant thousands and thousands of acres. So the question is, which plant is best for this ordeal?
CS is dying because universities and colleges require you to take stupid classes that are completely boring and have nothing to do with CS?
That might be it.
I'd bet Amazon or some other online bookstore would really love it if all the books and artists pages were linked to them so you can buy the books and/or music. I use it like that sometimes anyway, reading an article, see sources list, find the ISBN of the book, and head over to a book website like alibris or amazon. This could generate revenue for wikipedia.
I just would hate if they had 'recommended' books or whatever as an advertisement, just simply link ISBN numbers to amazon or another website willing to pay wikipedia to be their sole source. Sort of how like Google pays Mozilla if we use the built-in search box, but google doesnt advertise it, it's just there for your convienience.
Obviously not everything on wikipedia is a product or goods, but for the articles that are talking about products/good/books, wikipedia should try to create a business deal with them, a link to amazon if they have the product available.
Probably need some new code but its not hard to implement.
Sure it is, the way they pump out artists with modifications to their vocals and all the industry music magic they use. That's not art, that's a product being produced just the same way a Ford Mustang is produced on an assembly line.
MSN money central doing a negative story on the 100 dollar laptop, why am I not surprised?
Bill Gates himself denounced the laptop, dont be surprised that one of his websites is not doing a 'report' on it.
Red Hat may be the way but we are stuck with Fedora, plus I don't like being a guinea pig so Red Hat can profit off users contributions in bugs and otherwise and implement them in RHEL as 'stable'. If people are happy with a watered down version of a good product, that's fine with me, but I want the best. In Red Hat's case and what they have to offer is RHEL, not Fedora.
They have nuclear technology.......so what? It's better for everyone to have it so no one will use it, if that makes sense.
Would the US have bombed Japan if the Japanese had the same type of technology?
These countries are realizing Nuclear Technology is power, it's a currency just as good as money itself.
full support is just not there, gaim is very behind in terms of what the protocols can offer now, gaim cannot even support invisible logins yet. Yahoo has had that for YEARS. I'm not talking down on the gaim guys, I know it must be difficult to write an app based on closed protocols. But I cant just pretend everything is ok with gaim and it supports all my IM needs, it doesn't.
As a consumer, I'm ready to look at these list of companies and effectively not do any business with them anymore. I certainly hope I can convince others close to me to do the same.
Your dollar is stronger than your bitching to these companies, stick it to them.

actually they do take them, they just take much longer to process.

So each worker had to look at 83 of them PER YEAR
How the hell is this alot?

I can see great things the open source community can develop for this machine provided we had access to it, even at a higher price.
They can use the extra money they made to either make more or donate it. Either way, they are donating something to these kids.

It's called forked tongue speak, Al Gonzales is good at it.
They cost the same if not more than the PCs that have Windows installed.
