Dear, it's not your Z-indices or competence in CSS. It's that you're a shite designer. And one with the temerity to throw a link to a myspace page around on slashdot. Oh, the angst. Black background. Red text. Multi-panelled iframe ugliness (one which is not mitigated when browsing in Safari FYI). You're deep. Very deep. And you play the guitar. Wow. I bet you totally cut yourself in rapture at your pointless little webturd, and if you are actually a web designer by profession I can just imagine you now, dismissing clients' requests for eye-catching graphics and evangelising pompously about the evils of plug-ins and IE6 hacks. If I saw you on the street, I would spit on you.
How about a 'web design recap' for NeoSmart Technologies, as having to fend off a popup which pointlessly informs me that "Mozilla 1.3 Beta is not supported! I'll try, though, but it might not work." has somewhat dampened my interest. Perhaps my 'Mozilla' is 1.3, but that's probably because it's a 'WebKit'.
Wrong. For a while I had a Compaq Presario laptop - P133/w 32 MB of RAM & 2 GB disk space running Windows 2000. Running even one app did put it into swap, but it did let me install it.
of roles. Is Slashdot saying they should instead build this pro-active defence mechanism directly into IE? Sounds to me like this lets them work on IE as a renderer of *ML's, with another layer or adjunct which can evolve and change to meet the problem of malicious code. Rather than having IE trying to be clever, and becoming bulkier and harder to manage, a separate team is beavering away on the Shield. I still hate IE. Like Firefox. etc. etc. M$.
It's a little extreme, but I'm an extreme guy..
No, wait. That's your sig. A blatant lie might I add, if your website is anything to go by.
The parent poster - you stuffy, pompous/. retard - would have to spend way too much time here to notice this particular indiscretion. In my opinion, that is a far worse crime.
Thank-you for your apostrophe pedantry. It adds to your quiet dignity. You made the point succinctly IMO.
That's purely a matter of opinion. I say he should keep his old OS and just write a worm to take down all of the 'boxen'* of smug Linux owners who have unnecessary services running and a sub-conscious belief in security through obscurity, despite everything they memorised in C.S..
* I am available for receiving a good kicking at your convenience.
While I've been forced to use PINE in some of my gigs, I'd prefer to still stick an RJ-45 plug on my tongue and manually read the data stream, thank you very much. PINE isn't a piece of software I would *choose* to use, but something I might use rather than having to constantly fill my mouth with cable. Note: I am a unix systems administrator.
it's just the fashion at the moment. Bashing Java is a classic, but PHP, like 80's ra-ra skirts and lip gloss, goes in and out of fashion constantly. Just stick to praising R-o-R, that'll keep the karma nice n' safe.
I can't bring myself to type the acronym, but you did have me Laughing Out Loud there. The irony, the sweet sweet irony of it. You are completely correct, what have we come to?! The Internet is now a frat-boy-jock hookup zone. Maybe your High Schools will now be for education, social development and the like..
-1 Troll seems harsh, almost as if some crackpipe-wielding mod was too quick to judge. The 'Linux isn't as reliable as Windows' link could've come from the Paul Thurrot Supersite and should definitely provide light relief to Linux zealots of whatever denomination. I laughed anyway and I don't particularly care for Linux that much.
..ring the relatives overseas, make a three or four national calls to other relatives and then finally top it all off with a couple of calls to local friends. Excellent. I love the idea of wasting the NSA's time; if they are distracted by wasting their time on this, then can't possibly be spending that time fucking over the American public. Think of it as a service I'm providing, courtesy of your friends Over The Pond.
Was that spiteful sentence even worth the characters it was written? I don't even know you, troubled little boy. BTW usa.net? What an uncomfortable throwback to 1996 for me it was to see that domain name again.
I'm not even sure what I mean to say sometimes. Happy to oblige you though, hope you have a better week next week. There, That's mORe Compassion and Humanity than you Will ever recieve again On this gOD-forsaken site. But I think it's A gooD idea to stop looking for patterns Where nOne exist, Lest it Forces me to start taking medication.
Good man (or woman, if that is the case). You avoided the phrase because you didn't need to throw the phrase around as a substitute for actual wisdom. I like.
Yeah I think that is the case here too. The fan is literally *always* on. I think the chipset is a likely candidate, this is an area where m/f's frequently cheap-out on components. The BIOS is an insult to anyone with more than a week's experience of PC's - only shows options for changing the date/time & the BIOS boot-up splash screen. Pathetic. Can't even find a replacement BIOS image for it anywhere. In theory software clocking adjustment should be possible, but every utility under the sun is unable to change it. I've been wondering also whether the CPU heat sink could be looser than it should be.
Mate mate mate, slow down, there was no sarcasm. Damn this linear textual medium. I don't think you are said pedant as I don't know you. 'Pedantic twats' in this instance was more a reference to the collective ego's of/. as a whole. If I have offended you, I didn't mean too. I don't think I knew you until today. Or possibly three weeks into the future, by what you're saying, but in any case, unfashionable as it is, I just simply wasn't being sarcastic or snarky. I was trying to be nice dammit, look, I even friended you...wow, it stings when you're trying to be nice and you get misunderstood..these must be the 'feelings' which Spock often ruminated upon during his tenure aboard the Enterprise.
I am painfully aware of the impending launch of Torchwood, as the g/f is reduced to puddle of orgasmic goo (without intervention from myself alas) at every mention, hint & allusion to it! She has a particularly frightening hard-on for the sexually-ambiguous Capt. Jack. Looks like I'm gonna have to kiss another man soon just to keep her interested in me...
PS Thanks for not being a pedantic twat about my typo, was a refreshing change...
You must be a riot at parties.

that should be "my 'Mozilla' is < 1.3."

Thankyou for sharing. I think people use irony too often.
Wrong. For a while I had a Compaq Presario laptop - P133 /w 32 MB of RAM & 2 GB disk space running Windows 2000. Running even one app did put it into swap, but it did let me install it.

If I had the points, I'd mod you down for actually knowing that you sad little /. obsessive.

no, I didn't actually.

I have no idea what is so bad about MySpace. You are clearly missing something..

* blushes *
Dammit how am I to know someone on Slashdot wouldn't want to tear strips out of me for no particular reason?!
Still, damned embarrassing when I think about it..a worthy ad-hominem attack, and I fucking bit!!
* blushes again *
