No need, billy. We already know stuff about you. Our Senior
manager, Vinnie, who works at the casino, knows your two brothers.
Tell Tim we're sorry about his leg, but maybe that eMule download
was not such a good idea after all...

Each company has it's ways, i guess. But where i live, if you need
a program installed, you ask the admins for it. If we catch you
installing stuff without permission, you are the one in trouble.
Do you REALLY believe that a *corporate desktop* computer needs to "easily install software" or "configure printers"?
I, for one, would cut off your fingers if i caught you installing crap on one of my company's workstations.
Having seen more than one medium-sized company deploy desktops, I'm positive that all computers are already configured to run anything they need to run and print anywhere they need to print *before* they are presented to the user.
No. The problem is (as you might have learned if you R the FA) is at the application level. They are running into problem with web-based applications that were geared towards Internet Explorer. They are running applications on Wine (which they list as a temporary workaround themselves).
So, you are right in that there are problems yet to be fixed, but completely failed to put your finger on what it is that needs fixing.
Ya know what would be cool? some kind of p2p way to access the web. The p2p network should run over port 80, and when i ask for any webpage i want to visit, any random (idle?) node could reply to my request and serve as a proxy for me.
I've got one question:
If we still have not managed to make standard thin
clients popular (what percentage of the market is
using sunrays, for example?) -- and these work over a
LAN at 100Mbps or more, then what is making these
people think that just because there's broadband, everyone
will just jump over this thing?
Thin clients are NOT a replacement for a desktop
computer. They are, if they get them to work as good
as a thin client can work, office workstation replacements.
Nothing more.
You can't play games or video at decent rates using
remote applications. Not even over a 100Mbps line. Not
even using Citrix. I've worked with citrix myself and
while it's performace over a low-bandwidth link is impressive,
the look and feel of a remote application is not anywhere
near perfect at 100Mbps. It's just not the same.
So, *maybe* some big company will start offering this service.
My prediction is that a few people will subscribe to it,
use it for two days at the very most, and go back to
their "primitive" local applications as fast as they can.
But i guess we'll just see.

What the port is lacking is hardware support: especially, ReactOS has no USB support at the moment, so it basically just sits there being pretty, because mouse and keyboard won't work. The network and video cards should be mostly identical to their "real" counterparts, so the Windows drivers for them should work (except the video card, a modified GeForce - it's been established we need some HAL trickery to make the Windows driver load). We wouldn't mind some help:-)

well, you should try sex with a human being, at least once. Yes, i'm aware of the fact that you are only going to get it by paying for it, but still.
Well, no. It's actually the same meaning that it always had =oP
