Once the window is broken it really doesn't matter whether it was Billy or Jane who was the culprit...
Unless you want to stop Jane from bashing in any more windows. It's not like we're going to stop contributing to global warming if we ignore the question of whether we're contributing to it.
I read a really great short story once about a future where all films are made completely on computers, with AI actors. Then one guy starts filming movies with a real girl in them, just with computerized scenery, and doesn't tell anyone. It blows people away just how "real" his films feel compared to normal movies.
I hate it when people hate on people hating on something they hate just to get karma points just to get karma points.
It's almost as bad as people hating on people hating on people hating on something they hate just to get karma points just to get karma points just to get karma points.
If they can mathematically calculate how random something is, can't they just mathematically determine what would be the most random series of numbers, and just use that?
Meh, it's getting a bit stale. Besides, it wasn't really that funny when Decartes told it in 1630.
The fans on servers have variable speed. Case closed.
I believe that you will find those fans can still run at variable speeds with the case open.
What?
Running this once should reduce your PC's energy consumption to near zoro:
The only problem is, with all that jumping around and swordplay, Zorro ends up using tons of energy.
Er, but what are we going to do with all the people who just don't "have" the brains? They get a free ride?
That seems to be the way it's been working so far.
I heard a rumor that someone got it running on a VM under Linux on a Beowolf cluster of the 6th, 7th and 12th fastest, but the UI was really laggy.
As I'm certain you've seen elsewhere, MythTV should meet your needs.
I don't know about anyone else, but I am rarely concerned with amortizing the cost of a measly $200 item.
The only OLPC laptops I can find for sale now are on eBay, from people who would willingly profit from a charity. Is there a better source?
Ya... Sci-fi short stories aren't typically known for their plausible scenarios...
I think it's because of his atrocious grammatical errors!
On this sheet of paper, the black laser printer ink dots bleeded in all directions.
If only there were such a thing...
Oh god, why doesn't Gmail have a print all function!?
Tubal-Cain (1289912)
You know, I said that to a judge once and he threw out my case and went to go paddle himself...
Slashdot uses html-like tags, not BBCode-like tags.
Indeed.
Wait... you can upgrade the OS on your phone?
My mind has been blown...
So like artificial trees to replace the windows faster than they break?
Wait, now I'm lost. How do we stop CO2 emissions from creating a greenhouse effect?
Once the window is broken it really doesn't matter whether it was Billy or Jane who was the culprit...
Unless you want to stop Jane from bashing in any more windows. It's not like we're going to stop contributing to global warming if we ignore the question of whether we're contributing to it.
No, probably not.
Don't you mean reverse polish grammar works in?

Anyone else read that? It was pretty good.

Grammar works like nesting things, right?
Here's a question about bits of entropy:
If they can mathematically calculate how random something is, can't they just mathematically determine what would be the most random series of numbers, and just use that?
No, that's not 1's or 0's. You must mean 00101010.
