This does not confirm that the elections were a farce. It simply confirms that Iran is not a liberal democracy. If the elections were fair and a protest erupted, there would have been a similar clampdown.
Frankly, I don't know who to believe. The past 30 years of American history has taught me not to take my government's word at face value, and journalism isn't much better. I don't think anyone outside of Iran knows the truth.
Yeah, because the ACLU is only about taking on cases of important people. Even though I don't agree with all of their positions, they are a very effective organization and have helped take down many unjust laws.
(and thank you again, Slashdot, for the five minute wait between posts).
Let's take the 24 hours as the limit. I imagine if you designed a different type of balloon with a different shape, you could easily increase this. But for example's sake, let's stick with 24 hours.
According to the article, these things cost $50/each. Predators cost $15 Million. I wonder what a UAV that stays up for months would cost. Even if you got the cost down to $1 Million, you can send up quite a few balloons for much cheaper.
Step 1. Call your friend, oldspewey and have him install and configure it for you. He LOVES helping his friends out for free. Step 2. Just give him a piece of pizza when he is done. It is the only thanks he needs. Step 3. If anything goes wrong with your PC just call him up and bitch. It is obviously something he did to break your computer.
Clearing houses pre-date Publisher's Clearing House by decades. In fact, my guess is that this is where PCH got the name. Basically clearing houses were places where banks would exchange all of the checks they received from other banks. Accounts would be settled between banks. As a manual process, it was a royal pain in the ass. In the era of electronic funds transfers and check imagining, this process has become much more automated, reducing float times that some individuals would take advantage of.
Dude. Lay off the weed.
I predict a flood of MJ puns in /.'s near future.

Thanks.
It hid some guy's PowerPoint presentation? I'd consider that a feature not a bug.

Dude. The article was Godwin'ed before the first post. I am impressed. You'd have to be a Nazi to disagree.
Thanks for the in depth analysis...
Ralsky acknowledges he is facing up to 87 months in prison and a $1 million fine..
Summary says 6 years, then 87 months. Someone want to RTFA and tell me where the difference comes in?
No. We aren't. I used a condom for three years when I first got married. After stop using the things, the sensation doubled.
Put to Joe Bag on while you're going down on her.
Errm. So you are going down on her while planning to use a condom to prevent STD? Do you see the problem with this?

You have? Can you point to one? Their official position is that the 2nd amendment is not an individual right.

I 'don't know'.
How is definite evidence different from regular evidence?

Why do you want to over engineer things? A balloon is easy to make, cheap to make and can stay up for days.
Easy

Now where is my $100?
It depends.
You missed the pun.
