Nice Rant. Here is the text of the 4th Amendment which Thomas Jefferson and Ben Franklin had a role in writing:

"The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized."

This affirms that you have protection until probable cause can be established. Not that you have an absolute protection against wire taps.

All very well, but it's hard to convert people to your religion with broken twigs and cracked rocks. Stained glass and gold ornaments on the other hands really wow the average pleb. And hey, when you're going about saving people souls, who's to say you should look the part! It's all for a good cause right?

Except the Christian church grew incredibly fast before all of those things, and the reward for conversion was likely persecution or death.

And, yet, starvation rates world wide are going down. Perhaps the issue is distribution, not supply? Also, the fact that food is a smaller percentage of the economy does not mean that the amount of food is decreasing. If the rest of the economy per capita is increasing by a positive rate, then it will naturally outstrip food which is not going to be consumed at an every increasing per capita rate.

The studies go on to point out other factors besides availability of porn. And the numbers are not consistent between different societies. Every conclusion I have read has pointed to the fact that availability of porn is not a factor either way. The larger factors were making it easier for women to prosecute cases, and an overall increase in women's rights.

  18. Re:the same is true for porn. on Games Had Nothing To Do With V. Tech Shooting · · Score: 2, Interesting

From the same study: "Among those European/Scandinavian societies investigated for any relation between the availability of pornography and rape or sexual assault, again no such correlation could be demonstrated (Kutchinsky, 1985a, 1991). For the countries of Denmark, West Germany and Sweden, the three nations for which ample data were available at the time, Kutchinsky showed that as the amount of pornography increasingly became available, the rate of rapes in these countries either decreased or remained relatively level. According to Kutchinsky, only in the United States did it appear that, in the 1970s and early 1980s as the amount of available pornography increased, did some increase in rape occur (Kutchinsky, 1985a, 1991). But Kutchinsky also noted a change in how rape was recorded which could account for the apparent increase in the American sex crime rate."

So, basically, no correlation. With all due respect, your original claim cannot be backed up. At the same time, there is no reason to believe that porn produces sexual assaults.

If that is the question, then the answer is wrong. You cannot place a call to your own phone.
