Hey, Here's an idea: If you don't think it's worth $250 DON'T BUY IT! It's not a hard concept to grasp, I know I myself had a problem with that at one point when I was younger. Stop your bitching and STFU!
Yeah this is definately some scary stuff. I don't think that they should use this stuff at all. If it starts getting used more and more they will think that they can predict who will do what eventually and start arresting people for crimes they have yet to commit. Just like in the movie. Scary Stuff...
It's ridiculous to profit off of something (on top of trying to have it pulled from shelves) because you think it's too violent. He should go speak to kids in the poor neighborhoods about not dealing drugs for a living if he wants to make a difference.
My sister's high school decided to do this as well, here's the story:

Dear McNeil High School Parents and Guardians:
While technology has served to improve our lives in numerous ways, it also has some negative effects. It has come to our attention that some Round Rock ISD students are sharing personal information and photographs on web sites that could enable viewers to locate the students. Two of the sites found to include RRISD students were www.xanga.com and www.myspace.com. On some postings students listed their full names, school names, cities, and other identifying information. Several included pictures and commentary (about both students and teachers) that are discomforting, if not downright disturbing.
While many of the postings on these web sites are not necessarily alarming, we want you to be aware that some students are sharing information and photographs that could compromise their safety. Please talk with your student about the dangers of publishing identifiable information and photographs on the Internet. Please be aware of the online sites your student is visiting from home, and discuss with your student the harm that can be done by publishing inappropriate information or photographs of others without their consent or knowledge. You may also want to consider obtaining content-filtering or other parental control options for your Internet service.
Students who participate in extracurricular activities that require higher standards of conduct, such as cheerleading, band, and athletics, may face consequences for publishing inappropriate web photos or information that identify their role in the school.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call me at 464-6300. We appreciate your assistance in maintaining safe and secure environments for our students.
Sincerely,
Nelson Coulter

Personally I believe that is a load of crap, There goes the right to free speech.
I have a Kingwin USB 2.0 enclosure and it has been working fine since I bought it a year or so ago. It's black aluminum with a blue light power light and an orange activity light. the lights are quite bright, but it keeps the drive cool. I would recommend that you stand the drive up with the provided feet so that it does not heat up your desk, plus it will have more adequate airflow this way. I suggest this only because I have had it for a year and have yet to burn out a drive on it. I currently have a 250gb maxtor that I got from my local Fry's inside. The Kingwin enclosure itself is only $35 and it lasts. It has a separate power cable though, this is the only thing I wish I could change, Other than that I would recommend this and would buy it again if I needed another backup drive.
I work for Sonic Drive-In and we used Muzak (via satellite) for years, only early this year was it changed to a sonic-provided satellite radio, which needless to say, sucks hardcore. Now all they play is pop music instead of oldies like the Muzak played. Muzak can be good if you get the right songs, not just background music (as in no vocals).
These became available from Dell yesterday and can be shipped on any new system. They are designed to compete with McAffe which is currently the leading seller of the all in one package from a big name (other than spybot and ad-aware). The price is $79 and it includes the antivirus software, a firewall, and of course spyware removal. This is ten dollars more than the competitor (McAffe).
Use common sense!
hahaha, yes, that would make their fiber networks run faster

All you need is a nice A/V receiver bud. one with multiple inputs. like a yamaha or onkyo

It's corporate policy. The one I am at is a franchise but must still comply with those guidelines. sucks.

I live in austin tx, and starbucks wireless net is free, if not you can stumble for some around there.
Perhaps this would allow for citywide coverage using only your 802.11g card?
How will 802.11s come in to play here?
It would be damn nice if I could go to a coffee shop other than starbucks to get wireless internet with my morning drink.
