I actually think the direction we are going now with more hybrids and more plug in hybrids is the right direction.

    WHY?

Electric cars cannot take the place of gas powered vehicles until the ability to recharge within a few minutes is solved. Biofuel/plugin electric hybrids solve that -- most days if you aren't driving more than your electric range you are a total electric vehicle.

I'm sorry but you will find little support for your fascistic ultimatum that people can't drive a hundred miles to their lake house, or have to use a carpool, bus etc. For some people those are options but for a majority of people they aren't and if you try forcing that on people you'll be deservedly reviled.

Warmer temperatures induce melting of arctic and greenland icesheets. If this continues far enough, it may reduce the salinity of the north Atlantic to the point that the oceanic conveyor shuts down; If this happens, Europe freezes.

I'm curious on this. I've heard the doomsday senarios that have the oceanic conveyor shutting down within a very short period of time, but isn't it more likely that as the increased fresh water content starts slowing the conveyor down, that temperatures will fall, and more ice will form, thus reducing the amount of fresh water etc? Wouldn't this be another example of a self regulating mechanism?

Nearly 58 million, or 75 percent, of U.S. households now subscribe to broadband according to the CEAâ(TM)s recently released research entitled âoeBroadband in America: Access, Use and Outlookâ.

That would mean that 19.3 million households in the US don't currently subscribe to broadband. Lets say that all of those don't cost as much as it would to get broadband to your house, but some would cost more. If we figure an average cost of $5K / household. (thats just a guess let me know if you think it would be more or less than that) That would be a cost of about $1200 - $1600 more per household per year.

What is so important about every last household having broadband access that makes it worthwhile to me to pay $130 more a month?
