I don't think you got what the author was saying. Its more of a "I may not agree with what your saying, but I will defend to the death your right to say it" (please excuse my shotty quoting) typa comment. We should let this game be published regardless of its views or otherwise. We should tell the author/team how we feel about the game, and that it is a bad idea in general. What we shouldn't and can't do(according to the American constitution) is not allow the authors to express thier view even if we disagree with it.
I disagree. I have a '83 chevy shortbox, It has 190,000KM on it (not many) and other then changing plugs, airfilter etc(which you would have to do to any vehicle 23 years old) it has NEVER been to the garage. Compare this to our new shiney '05 dodge Grand Caravan which has been to the garge three times in its 10k, under a year lifespan. Once for a "engine warning light", once for a airbag problem, and just recently because the alternator quit working properly.
Interesting, im my area of Alberta Canada its much differnt. I live in a town of about 3000 people, and have 3mb telus ADSL. Very very few people in my town still have dialup. And just a few months ago, the local computer store/a company called netago and the special areas district put up 4 highspeed wireless towers offering a 3mb wireless connection to everyone in Special Areas, so a good chunk of rural alberta has access to highspeed.
If its so bad.... How come they created it in the first place. Looks like Grokster(along with sharman) is more scared of the RIAA then we are of it logging "our" ip addresses.
Indeed, Starcraft was and still is one of the best RTS games and its soo cool to see blizzard still fixing it. I read in a CGW mag. that there is a starcraft mod in development for War 3. Lets hope Blizzard is as cool as they usually are and lets them continue (they were waiting a response from Blizzard about it).
(mods sorry for double post)
Something that just occured to me, MMORPGS wouldnt be a good choice because of the typing invovled, although do check out some RPGS ( Neverwinter Nights which has already been mentioned I belive)

I for one welcome our new fossilized overlords.

Your best best would be either RTS's (I recommend Rome: Total War ) or an MMORPG ( Everquest 2 or World Of Warcraft are both fine choices.
I woudnt be suprised if valve used this as another excuse to delay HL2.
What is the purpose of warming the PCs, They like the cold.
