How is this any different from doing personal things/errands on company time?
I mean most of us (including me) telecommute to work and I use my office time to do personal work (gym, errands, cooking, etc) while also giving up my personal time (weekends, evenings, etc) for company work as it comes up or becomes necessary. So by that same token, does company property really have a right to dictate what you can do with it? You are giving back to the company in terms of work done, productivity, reports, etc. As long as you deliver what's expected, why does it matter how its done as long the its not compromised?
WHATEVER the FUCK, come on somebody give me a service that calls phones (cell/landline) to India for cheap, less than 10c. NO..NOT ONE, all claim cheap, but if you carefully observe its NOT countries like India.
Skype offers some 17c, Gizmo offers 22c, so where is it for people like me to appreciate calling frm PCs to phone??
To be frank, I was getting a few marketing calls before I signed up my name in the list, but all that changed after my buddy decided these were a nuisance and put the no. in the Do Not Call List.
Serioulsy I would rather wait for a night or 2 and get free movies through bit torrents. I mean when its free, why bother going to guys who charge you for movies!! I have been doing it for a while (movies throiugh torrents) through all the torrent of the RIAA arrests and policies, but no shit..

Well, I am not very certain where this is going, but coming to think of it, the DoD started it all here, when the DARPA project started. It grew into the internet as we know it today and more so, who really cares. I mean Internet 2 [internet2.edu] is already available, albeit for academic purposes. How far away do you think Internet 3, 4 etc come up or maybe Internet 2a, 2b,..
If the US wants it, give them the finger and ask them to take it, after all what use is the Internet if people stopped using it and started using an alternative form if something came up?
So, ICANN and the 'President' will have a lot of networking homework to do, if no one uses what they control.

When I scout around and search and search and decide which is the best article to submit and some **** (no complaints though) feel the article is not worthy enough of being on/. and here you have mods getting articles from people and do not care to check its redundancy...

well, while I was reading this article and coments here,/. was flashign Vonmage ads on top and it sure was kinda ironic, that this ad had to flash when the need was to eliminate service like theirs and build your own.
also, all these 1-800 #s (cust support)most goto the Asia, and they are "Toll Free", (and most of the times the stupid call is for 30 mins, with 25 mins hold time) but wtf, when I need to call someone genuinely in Asia, even if its for 5 mins, I frickign have to shell out. Can there be something done about this and start getting VoIP calls to phone lines for cheap/free. Its sad that there has been done nothing so far. I would not even mind paying 20 bucks a month for unlimited calling there (Asia). Any answers...
Is this spawning a new *Identity Piracy*? People are cool with Online piracy (which incidentally was on/. a few posts ago) and illegal dload stuff made by others, So why raise a hell over someone dloading 'your info' and using it. After all, you still have (your identity) right?
