I'm finally replacing my nine-year-old Gigabyte AMD 690 motherboard with a Gigabyte AMD 760G (sixth revision). Not the latest and greatest for AMD, but it extend the life of my quad-processor, and opens the way for an eight-core processor later on.
I used my first-gen iPod Touch for eight years before the battery stopped holding a charge. Probably five years after the last update. I got an iPhone 5C to replace it since it was $100 cheaper than the current iPod Touch and my cellphone was out of contract.
I'm planning to live to 120 years old. That's another 75 years of life for me. One major problem that many retirees have these days is outliving their retirement funds by 20 to 30 years. If I die sooner than 120, my heirs will have a nice inheritance.
I read something a while back that 20th century weather was a "statistical fluke" and humanity will never experience another period of stable weather. Oh, well. I'm moving to the hills in the next 20 years to avoid raising sea levels in California.
If it's really affecting your mental health, please read this article:
Mitt Romney had an obligation as a presidential candidate to explain why he had an unusually large retirement account and release his tax returns. He didn't, danced around the issue and played the victim when the media ran stories.
You should also Google "SEP IRA limits" - that's the plan that small business owners use to contribute (and deduct) up to about $50K year.
Most business owners don't set up SEP IRAs in the Cayman Islands. Unless, of course, they have something to hide from the IRS or the general public.
It crashed hard - I couldn't even login over the network.
A coworker accidentally sent a 36MB core dump file to everyone in the company that crashed the server in 1997. Took the admin three days to manually delete ~300 copies.
When the I LOVE YOU virus struck in the late 1990's, I was working for a French company in Silicon Valley and logged into Outlook that morning. I thought it was weird to get an email from the CEO with the subject line I LOVE YOU and wondered if all French people were gay. The emails kept coming after that. What killed the email server was the anti-virus scanner sending out email notifications that the virus got removed in addition to the "cleaned" I LOVE YOU emails that kept coming through. The system admin didn't have a productive day.
That's why Trump is a billionaire, and you're not.
Your comment makes no sense. Filing for bankruptcy is a constitutional right (Article I, Section 8, Clause 4). I exercised my constitutional right for chapter seven bankruptcy in 2011 after being out of work for two years (2009-10). In fact, during the trustee hearing, another person was on his fifth business bankruptcy in 50 years.
They're just too expensive for what you get most of the time, and some of the cosmetic design decisions (e.g., thinness) come at too high a cost in terms of practicality.
That's why I don't ever want to see an Apple Car. It'll cost too much and be too thin.
IT security is not as good a career track as it looks like from the outside.
That's probably my problem then. I'm looking from the inside out. I'll be starting my third year in government IT as a computer security technician. I give thanks to Microsoft for my daily job security.
After he retired, he took a long walk in the desert every morning for 40 years!
He could have lived longer. Unfortunately, he moved into a bad retirement community that grumbled about every little thing.

Its going to get really interesting when certain regions get temperatures over 38C and 100% humidity.
The Persian Gulf area will be uninhabitable.

I'm still waiting for Mitt Romney to explain how his IRA account can have $100M in it when legal contribution limits is ~$200,000 over 40 years.

Why do you hate Trumpistan?
FTFY
Read the EULA - Google can do whatever they want with 'your' device
What EULA would that be? I don't own any Google devices.
Any more on that? They got in right? What'd they learn?
Cat videos.
That would be political suicide on a grand scale if Trump won with a majority vote.
With the Supreme Court being 4-4, I doubt he could get a majority to win the election. ;)
Now if he does something to get legitimately impeached, then well what are you going to do.
So many of his positions are so extreme that Congress might do the country a favor by removing him from office before he could do any serious harm.
When did Google get into the scanning devices business? I thought scanning books would keep them busy for a while.
Apple will replace OS X with iOS.
Latest rumor is that Apple will rename OS X to MacOS to be consistent with iOS, tvOS and WatchOS.

Impeaching Trump after he gets sworn into office is a real possibility.

The FBI is looking for a fig leaf to cover up the fact that they tried to establish a legal precedent through deceit. Your tax dollars at work.
Since when is overtime paid to IT staff?
Based on my experience... before 2005./p

Or just get an Intel NUC or one of the many other, cheaper, better and smaller units.
Do they run Mac OS X?
I hate dealing with punks who never had ownership with a company because they are so interested in the 2 year temp cycle.
My last three jobs ended after nine months on average.
WOOOOSH!
