With ideas like the above one the concept of toplevel-domains is driven to a state which is meaningless. What is the REAL difference now between domains and toplevel-domains ? I mean that once upon a time.com means commercial,.org means non-comercial and so on. That type of difference is the only one wich matters for a user. I mean that for a user hondasucks.org does not differ to honda.sucks in any meaningful way.
I have another suggestion: There should be only four (plus country-domains) toplevel-domains:.c (for commercial),.o (for REAL non-commercial),.p (for a real person, must not be an organisation, company or whatsoever non-personal entity),.i (for international governement-like organisations like UN which cannot be under a country-domain).
.c could be a person, a company, an organisation or whatever which is in a commercial purpose.
.o could be whatever as for.c but ONLY in a non-commercial purpose and action.
.p must NOT be anything than a real person but could be used for whatever commercial or non-commercial purpose as long as all communication to and responsibility for that domain is connected to this person. The name of this domain should be the real name of the person, or else NOT a name of some other person.
.i must not be responsible to, or under the law of a specifik country.
In preserving data for periods of 1000 year and more you can't rely on:
* Keeping hardware to read the data. * Converting data to another media at regular intervals. * Any assumption of best/most common format of the data.
You must presume that:
* The (eventual) future civilizations can manufacture the neccessary hardware. * And that they will have a mental ability to reconstruct the data format and software. (An example: the Egyptian hieroglyphs.)
This means that:
* The media should rely on minimal "mechanical" requirements (rather a CD-player than a card reader...:-)) * They should have a description on the physical containment (of the media). * The media should preserve the data in at least 10000 years or more.
The real problem is the last above, of course. The solution is probably something in the lines if a CD (physical "marks") rather than something like a magnetic tape (magnetic/electronical charges).
You can look at their homesite http://www.bluetooth.com or at http://www.bluetooth.com/developer/specification/s pecification.asp to get the specs.
One limitation of Bluetooth is that it reaches only something around 100 meters if I remember. So You can say that it's a kind of "local connection" protocoll and hardware.
But with the predicted prices You could use it in keyboards, mouses, phones(local), PDAs, remotes a s o...
And from WHERE does he get the money from if they who can pay also is they who can afford lawyers and time... ??
Most patents are of a kind that are NOT of obvious (money) value to most of companys. And if a big company fights a patent owner other companys does NOT want to use such a licence !!
Remember that the costs in court could easy (if the big company wants..) reach several 10's of millions !
This is of course not much help for small files, but for larger...
Even if the seek time is not much improved, the total read/write time should be at least a half magnitude faster. Think of bigger programs, graphical files a s o.

I don't know where you get YOUR math from but it's not relevant.

1: The chance of a DNA match (in this 6-loci case) is 1 to 37000000.
2: That means that ONE DNA-sample compared to ONE other DNA-sample has the chance to in 1 of 37000000.
3: If You have TWO other DNA-samples to match against you have a chance of match in 2 (TWO!) of 37000000 !
4: Any other circumstances have no impact on this if THEY HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THE DNA-CODE !
5: In this case we have 660000 OTHER DNA-samples to match against ! The rest is obvious
