Name any chemical and I'll find a way to make a bomb out of that crap.
Argon.
H2O2 can be used to make the explosive TAPT which is popular with the Islamist extremist crowd, and which has been used in multiple attacks including the 2005 London bombings.
Dual-use regulation is inconvenient, not bullshit.
To date, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has approved 1,372 Obamacare waivers, covering 3.1 million Americans. Yesterday, The Daily Caller reported that among HHS’s most recent round of 204 Obamacare waivers, “38 are for fancy eateries, hip nightclubs and decadent hotels in House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi’s Northern California district.” That’s right: Nearly 20 percent of exemptions from Pelosi’s crowning health care achievement were doled out in her backyard.
If that’s not enough irony for you, try this waiver on for size: On Monday, the Las Vegas Sun reported that Nevada—Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s home state—received a partial statewide Obamacare waiver, too. If you’re keeping score, Reid was Pelosi’s counterpart in the Senate fighting to get Obamacare passed into law. Now his state will be one of three to get a waiver from the law’s requirements, while the rest of America suffers.
If you like your insurance you can keep your insurance? If you like your doctor you can keep your doctor?
Race baiting and lies go a bit beyond "suck".
the republican party is incredibly successful at turning the victims of their legislation into their voter base.
I see that African Americans have fared unusually poorly under the Obama administration and yet are still solidly behind him. That isn't the only part of the Democratic voter base like that.
This particular income redistribution plan is only different in that income is redistributed to the poor instead of the rich.
It is far more than that. It is also a healthcare rationing plan. It is a scheme to cripple the medical device industry. It is a ill considered regulatory scheme that has caused many people to lose their existing health insurance that they were satisfied with. It is a ill considered regulatory scheme that has caused many companies to dump health insurance for their workers, or made it much more expensive. It is a ill considered regulatory scheme that has caused many small businesses to limit their growth and employment to avoid the punative Obamacare regulation. It is a ill considered regulatory scheme that has caused many companies to greatly increase percentage of part time workers they use and reduce full time employment which has resulted in many people losing benefits, including health insurance.
This particular "income redistribution plan" is different in that it has so many bad intended and unintended consequences with many more yet to come. It is almost enough to make you wonder if seizing control of 100% of a major sector of the economy to "solve" a 10% problem with massive regulation and social engineering that continually invokes the law of unintended consquences was really a good idea.
Quite right. Obamacare won't be "fully in place" until all of those "temporary wavers" go away, and we are past the front loaded funding to see what it really costs.
There is still a lot of smoke and mirrors being used to obscure the real cost and ultimate impact of Obamacare. Why do you think that is?
Why would you worry about this? We have it on good authority from the last 13 years of countless posters and moderators pushing those views and punishing dissent that there are no terrorists, only "terrorists".... maybe. And they're all FBI plants. And this is probably just a false flag so the bureaucrats in Brussels can get more power. And if any attack were to happen it would be an inside job.
Besides, even if something actually happened, wouldn't another Chernobyl in Western Europe be just a big "teachable moment" for everybody?
As you point out the frame of reference is important to consider when considering questions of who is a traitor or patriot. As such Snowden can be considered a Sino-Russian patriot and a traitor to America based on his actions. How lucky for him that he now lives in Russia.
It isn't just a question of there being "enemies of the state," but rather there being enemies willing to kill in large numbers.
If the enemy doesn't get tired of attacking, should the US just stop defending and let people die? Or should the US just surrender, force people to convert to Islam, and institute Sharia?
Snowden admitted that he took the job at NSA to steal documents. He planned it from the beginning.
There is no evidence that he made a meaningful attempt to complain about the legality of the programs. You would think that since he managed to steal 1,700,000 documents that he might have managed to nab a personal email or two to demonstrate that, but no. Why not? Maybe because it never happened and was irrelevant to his plan from the start which was to steal documents.
The surveillance programs were backed by Congress, the President, and some were even subject to the courts. In previous cases that have tested similar questions the courts have accepted them. So who appointed Snowden to overthrow the process of our democratic form of government as well as damage the security of America's allies?
There are a number of interesting parallels between Snowden's case and that of Kim Philby. Both apparently were driven by ideology. Philby was driven by communism. Snowden became disaffected with the US years before he stole the documents, and displays a misinformed and warped view of the Constitution and law of the US. Snowden seems to have something of a martyr complex as well. I have little doubt he quite satisfied with himself.
As to other rewards involving payments, who can tell? We can't exactly see his bank account, can we?
One thing we can note if the growing number of instances of odd actions or statements by Snowden that are suspicious. Why did the Russian government claim to be surprised by Snowden's arrival when he is reported to have stayed for days at the Russian embassy in Hong Kong? How did it happen that a personal friend of Putin that is also on the public committee of the successor agency to the KGB is the lawyer representing Snowden in Russia? Where is the proof that he really tried to file complaints in the NSA? (He can steal Australian plans to bug Indonesian government officials, but not is own emails? Really?) Snowden claims to have been a spy, and yet his job was a system administrator. The list goes on, and on.
Benjamin Franklin opened other colonist's mail for intelligence purposes in the Revolutionary War. George Washington ran a spy ring during and after the Revolutionary War that spied on other colonists.
It seems there is more to establishing and keeping the American Republic than you understand. Perhaps you just aren't capable. What a pity.
You seem to be making brazenly irrational claims of treason not supported by the Constitution which strictly limits charges of treason and its proof. You don't know what you are talking about when it comes to the Constitution or the law. You also apparently have a footgear fetish.
As I see it, every agency that has a hand in the domestic surveillance programs detailed by Snowden is in violation of Federal law, and yes these are felonies. From Title 18 of the United States Code:
Very nice, but I see you neglected to quote any of the legislation authorizing the activities of the intelligence agencies.
I think it's highly probable that both Russia and China already had much of what Snowden took with him on his laptop.
I find that people repeatedly make whatever assumption is necessary to give Snowden a pass.
One question though: Russia started making significant upgrades to its electronic surveillance and intelligence systems after Snowden's leaks. They also moved off from computers to typewriters for some highly sensitive documents. If they already knew all that Snowden stole, why would they do that now? Why not earlier?
Snowden badly damaged not only US intelligence but also the intelligence services of many of its allies by leaking massive numbers of classified documents as well as causing numerous diplomatic problems. He leaked far, far more than just aspects of operations that might have a civil rights dispute. Snowden is no patriot.
If Sarah Palin is your worst nightmare, you have pretty tame nightmares.
You don't really strike me as the type that knows nothing about improvised explosives.
The fact that you apparently know your way around circuit boards is icing on the cake.
Name any chemical and I'll find a way to make a bomb out of that crap.

Given Soviet rates of alcoholism, if they had known how to make booze out of corn they would have been sick from that too.
Who Gets an Exemption From Obamacare?
How About a National Obamacare Waiver?
To date, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has approved 1,372 Obamacare waivers, covering 3.1 million Americans. democrats SUCK at messaging.

I'm not worried.
How convenient, he's only infallible on things that can't be proven.
In other words you don't understand what that means in pretty much any way.
As you point out the frame of reference is important to consider when considering questions of who is a traitor or patriot. As such Snowden can be considered a Sino-Russian patriot and a traitor to America based on his actions. How lucky for him that he now lives in Russia.
I guess you never bother to read the news or inform yourself. There is more to the world than what is inside your skull.
That is the politically correct view on Slashdot, yes.
Let's apply that logic again.
You don't like agency X.
Agency X did a legal thing.
Ergo agency X did an illegal thing.
That's not right. You appear to be the one full of it.
It isn't just a question of there being "enemies of the state," but rather there being enemies willing to kill in large numbers.
If the enemy doesn't get tired of attacking, should the US just stop defending and let people die? Or should the US just surrender, force people to convert to Islam, and institute Sharia?
I refer you to Public Law 107-40. It is legally equivalent to a declaration of war. That is settled law.
Identifying the enemy is a trivial exercise left to the reader.

Snowden committed espionage. He's lucky he hasn't been charged with Aiding the Enemy. It would be appropriate.
Just because you don't like the view doesn't make it a troll.
As I see it, every agency that has a hand in the domestic surveillance programs detailed by Snowden is in violation of Federal law, and yes these are felonies. From Title 18 of the United States Code:

Any reason for that?
Another part of the problem is people making bullshit claims like this.
I think it's highly probable that both Russia and China already had much of what Snowden took with him on his laptop.
