I think that falls on the individual implementation of the phone. If my understanding is correct the operating system does support being at least that secure, but that doesn't mean that the version of Android that actually ships is,or that the phones hardware supports it either. The downside to the fragmented Android community - there are few baselines.

Someone isn't paying attention at all. First, this is pure Linux. You don't get to say GNU/Linux when the talk is about the kernel itself. Second, there are short term support kernels and long term support kernels. The STS kernels are for the users that don't care about support (aka your average basement dweller). The LTS kernels get supported for years to come, and are what the enterprises are going to be using.

However, I do like having a default file name (especially if it's smart enough to see if that file already exists and create a new name (say output1.pdf) as not to overwrite the first file). As far as keystrokes go on that, you are adding an extra step in there - it is not necessary to hit delete, you can start typing and it will overwrite highlighted text. Or you can double click the word and start typing (if you are mouse inclined instead. Oh, options for everyone!).

It is my understanding (not positive on the way apt behaves, but yum/dnf works this way) that since apt-get update/upgrade has no way to report back to Canonical since it's just an HTTP/FTP request to a random mirror, which only occurs when you tell it to run anyway. Plus, Microsoft is doing much more then just checking for updates (it checks and installs at will in Windows 10, you can not disable it in Home/Pro versions).
