No, not at all. Certainly more a more GPU intenesive benchmark then CPU. Your GPU probably does pretty good for a lot of games at that monitor resolution.
Case sensitivity is the one that hit me. My Lion install is case sensitive, and a lot of programs (don't have PS to try, but can vouch for Steam, Diablo 3 and Starcraft 2) simply don't install.
Fedora 18 on AMD FX-8120 + nVidia GTX 460 + 24GB RAM. Serious Sam seems to run at exactly half the FPS of the Windows version, other then that, no issues (that I've found).
From a UI standpoint I like Windows Me better. If only I could run a newer web browser in it....
Or you can just reload the process that was using said library.
Well, I could save as PDF in Linux 10 years ago...
If you really want one: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel740. Predecessor to the i810 graphics. Matrox is still out there too.
Perhaps I should consider a career change....

Noticing higher results in Windows 7 over Linux (See Windows OpenGL score)
Are here under Fedora.

Actually, no it's not. The BSD world doesn't require the GNU userland - it has its own.
Like to add that I've tried other games too - HL, TF2, World of Goo, CS and CS:S. No issues.

Can you recommend any good Solaris games?
I have one too, and was wondering the same thing (just dusted off my Powerbook 540c last night. Now I need to find the powerbrick.)
That would be Virtual Terminal (VT) 4, not Desktop 4.
There are LGA775 boards with DDR3. I have one currently taken apart at work (has a Core 2 E8400 in it).
If it's supported in your kernel. Fedora and Ubuntu kernels, by default, do not (part of why I run my own kernel).
I have a USB Serial Cable for my laptop, for connecting to console only servers. Works great (/dev/ttyUSB0, configure just like a serial port).
Forget about if KMS fails - what if you're just outputting to a serial port?
Exactly my point.
Personally, I find Windows 8 to be ugly. It looks horrible compared to Windows Vista/7, Mac OS X, GNOME/KDE/Unity, etc.
Java is optional in modern LO/OO (I seem to remember Star Office being enirely in Java ~2001). I was making a remark at the OP about Java in general.
write once, infect anywhere?
Evidence please? Java is alive, kicking and screaming. Java 8 is coming down the turnpike. Java isn't going away anytime soon.
