From reading these comments, it really seems like most of you haven't been in a toy store in decades. I can assure you that there are tons of science-based toys on the market. Definitely way more now than there were when I was a kid in the 80s. I know lots of kids that are super interested in science and getting down and dirty with real technical learning. Sure, plenty of kids these days are glued to cell phones, but technical kids have always been and will always be the minority in society. Trust me, American children aren't as fucked up as Slashdotters seem to think.
We're never going to Mars at this rate. Well, America isn't at least. Good thing there are other, less short-sighted countries that will inevitably get there.
Or maybe he hates the republicans just as much, but that kind of goes without saying. Honestly, what intelligent person WOULDN'T hate republicans? I'd say he's neutral if he hates both equally.

I can't tell for sure what I'm looking at on that zoomable site. Is each pixel of light a star or is that noise in the picture?
If this was like 50% wider and curved, I'd pay almost anything for it. I've got triple 24" right now and it's great except for the bezels.
