Yep. The Chinese miners who hold most of the world's Bitcoins are trading small quantities between themselves to pump the price a bit, hoping to pull in a few more suckers before the final death.
If all that money had been invested in energy research or something the USA could dominate the world by owning/running their power grids instead of by pointing missiles at people and making threats.
They'd also have almost-free electricity for manufacturing, enabling all sorts of fancy industrial processes and dominating the world economy by exporting cheap goods.
This may depend on the jurisdiction, but I believe there's precedence for "anything bad that happens during/as a result of the commission of a crime is the responsibility of the person committing the crime."
If not then anybody could go around breaking windows and claim they cut their hand on your dangerous glass window.

eg. I did it to a telephone operator/ISP. I told them we'd need to switch three mobile phones plus Internet, needed to talk in person to work out the details, they came around next day.
My latest trick is to ask them to send round a sales representative (or equivalent).
When they arrive I tell them I'm deliberately wasting their time, I have no intention of buying anything and they can just fuck off. Repeat until they eventually leave.
It really works. I've got rid of some really troublesome companies. One that called me nearly every day for five years hasn't called once since I did it.
Nobody sane wants another four years of Trump. If Hillary runs, it will happen though.
I they put up Hillary again then I hope Trump wins. The world needs change, not the same old lobbyist-and-rich-people-running-the-show schtick as before.
