It's not true 3D - the focus point is decided by the movie director, not the position of the eyeballs (as it is in the real world).
When the 3D camera cuts between viewpoints the depth changes and there's a moment where the brain goes "Wha? Where am I supposed to be focussing??". I'm pretty sure that's what causes most of the problems in 3D cinema.
Problem is, nobody pays much attention and the government tells the mass media what stories are non-grata.
eg. The TSA's mass nude-scanning and intimate groping of our children. If it was Michael Jackson's personal security team doing that the press would have had a field day.
When it's the TSA doing it the presses are strangely silent over the matter. I'm not usually a conspiracy nutcase but there's no explanation for this other than a visit from the guys in the black SUVs.
Yes, but that coin has two sides... if we give them secrecy they start unnecessary wars and stuff (eg. Iraq, Afghanistan) based on their own personal agendas.
Ummm, that's totally false. Wikileaks hasn't published all the documents (we've only had a tiny fraction so far), there's no garantee that they'll ever publish all of them, end every one of them is redacted to remove names, etc., where it might endanger anybody.
Wikileaks aim seems to be to show how governments operate, to shine some much-needed light into the dark corners.
Yep. There's been plenty of fine public speeches about how Wikileaks puts people's lives in danger but nobody has pointed to any particular page/line to show us an example of the problem. The US govermnet response so far it all arm waving and downright lies.
So... the answer is, what? Everybody should drive an SUV? Then the soccer moms will want something bigger because they want to be 'safer than the other guy'?
PS: That's only impacts with other vehicles, overall SUVs are not any safer, any kind of swerving or loss of concentration is much more likely to kill you in an SUV.
"According to NHTSA data, SUV's and pickups are at a disadvantage in single-vehicle accidents (such as when the driver falls asleep, or loses control swerving around a deer), which comprise 43% of fatal accidents, with more than double the chance of rolling over. This risk relates closely to overall US motor vehicle fatality data, showing that SUVs and pickups generally have a higher fatality rate than cars of the same manufacturer"
I've sussed it. That chart lists the OPEC countries separately to make them look smaller. If you add up the OPEC countries it comes to way more than Canada and Mexico combined (about 33% more).
Armchair engineers: They come up with some largely imagined problem, assume the engine won't be modified in any way to compensate by the people with proper qualifications in engineering and engine design... then they cry "It'll never work!".
Should everyone, no matter how minor or severe the infraction, be sent to Federal pound-me-in-the-ass prison, where they get to make big rocks into little rocks until they die and get buried under a small white cross across the way from their cell?
Nope, but I think we could make more of a point about where they're headed if they continue down that road; eg. A second offense could earn them a mandatory seven days banged up with somebody unpleasant, just to give them a taste of what "grown-up" prison is like.
It's got to be better than the stupid ASBO system - which just teaches them that the police have no real power over them.

Yep, it's all about lawsuit avoidance. Slap the disclaimers on as early as possible.
What happens when two Canyoneros hit each other head-on?

Oh, sure, the USA is the only country which has been bothered by Wikileaks. Not.
Keep drinking the US government issued kool-aid.

On balance, complete transparency is best.

Zimbabwe was never going to have democracy anyway. You think a dictator (any dictator) is going to let the people vote freely?
What language is "C/C++", exactly?
Go read the daily WTF for a while...
Some people think that programming OUGHT to have high barriers to entry.

Usually they only do it to tourists who left the parking brake on.
If you leave the brake off they'll push the other cars out of the way by hand before trying to get their car out.
The oil barons who are running the country?

Does not compute. How come Canada isn't super-rich?
+1 ... I was just going to say "can't you manage to reach that last foot to the screen" but I guess you found a reason - filthy hands.
Don't know much about that, it was a rental. About the only thing I didn't like was the suspension - the ride was way too hard.

Threads like this always bring them out.
You armchair engineers...you're so predictable in threads like this.
I drove a SMART with this a few weeks ago. The engine starts up when you take your foot off the brake.

Maybe it's just me but I always have trouble seeing baseball players as "athletes".
Baseball is a sport, not an athletic event.
Strip clubs and hookers don't turn boys into men...?
