I've got 8Gb, why does Firefox still constantly swap to disk?
If I open a bunch of pages RAM usage says (eg.) "about 500Mb" for firefox.exe but the pagefile-delta column constantly says "I'm thrashing!" and the browser is almost unusable. Wait ten seconds for each mouse click to do something.
...which is stupid, because using them takes a lot of skill and practice. The only reason to prefer them over, say, a large crowbar (which will get you inside much faster) is they leave no trace of entry.
Most thieves aren't worried about leaving no trace of entry when they enter a house. The trashed rooms and missing TV usually gives the game away.
I want to know how much desk space my eight charging pads will take up (one for each device - you can bet they won't be compatible).
Oh, wait, I see the point now! Once you have a SONY charging pad you'll prefer to buy another more SONY products because buying a competitor will mean you lose another six inches of desk space - it's the memory stick con in disguise!
Yep. I could understand people getting excited if it charged the phone as you walk around the house or via the cell tower or something. This just gives you 10cm of extra distance, you still have to put your phone on it and leave it there to charge. If you're really too lazy to insert a plug (about three seconds) then a dock is just as simple and takes up less desk space.
But that's not what it's about. It's about appearance. Messing around with wires and plugs makes you sound like a poor person.
You forgot the important part: Consult a lawyer and listen to what he says when you ask him what the probability of success is (ie. the single most important question you should ask a lawyer). If you get the feeling he's pulling numbers out of his ass when you ask that question, get a different lawyer. All lawyers aren't equal and you need to find one who's had practice in the type of things you're interested in (though I imagine most will know the basics of employment law as people get fired every day).
Whatever happens, start looking for another job. Even if you "win" this you're going to need another job.
Sometimes you need to face the facts: If subby was valuable to the company they wouldn't be doing this (or maybe they aren't seeing it, he didn't kiss the right posteriors, whatever...)
There *might* be a case for unfair dismissal but proving it won't be easy, let's say 5% chance of success.
Life isn't fair, people are fired every day. Best thing is to move on as quickly as possible.
I'm not sure what the "quality" will be like if you try to record all those symphonies for $13,000. That's an awful lot of music to rehearse and record. Just trying to get 100-odd people to give up that much time will be a major problem unless you're paying them a decent amount.
For $13,000 I'd try to get four or five of the popular ones done then use them to try and get more funding.
The Western press will no doubt compare it side-by-side with the iPad and go on at great length about all its shortcomings, how isn't as shiny, how the touch-screen isn't as good, how the speaker is a bit naff, etc., but that's not who it's aimed at.
I hope the ISPs bill the monitoring of users at 25% of the cost of enforcement, therefore paying nothing to the RIAA.
Even better, bill it at 50% and ask the RIAA to make up the difference. The RIAA uses the same sort of accounting on artists so it's only fair....
Does it mean websites can now exploit bugs in the Ring-0 graphics driver as well as all those other things?
I dunno, I think you nailed it.
(And the answer is "yes"...)

Lies, damned lies and benchmarks.
It would overload the battery when the airbag fires...

You'll get a bunch of geeky hi-tech answers from people who've never left the basement.
I say get paper dictionaries and basic calculators then ban *all* electronic devices. Warn them beforehand.
If they can't figure out a paper dictionary and four function calculator it's a safe bet they were going to fail the exam anyway.
Having an online thesaurus has embiggened my vocabulary mammothly!
...just not from any other manufacturer, hence the need for more.
(And probably not even a Fujitsu gadget two years from now - just you wait and see!)

You sound poor.
The standalone USB chargers have higher current, as do many of the newer PCs.

really, how hard is it to plug a phone in?
Much too hard, apparently - read the comments.
The replacement/extra batteries are even worse than the chargers.
(I think the biannual "exploding battery turned out to be a Chinese fake!" stories are paid for by cell phone manufacturers...)
This was announced *because* USB is becoming dangerously close to a standard for charging.

I think this is the way most countries work...
They've made it so that web pages can exploit bugs in the ring-0 graphics driver too. How is that not clever?

Only in America would this be modded "insightful"...
Tolerable for who? It's all about expectations.

"brakes". The word is "brakes"...
