    Or just buy the two types of adapters, SD to USB-A and SD to USB-C. They're not very expensive.

    They're infinitely more expensive than they were for the previous generation of Mac.

    The iPhone is probably the last I'll use, unless it breaks down: it has a whopping 128GB of storage, which should last me I think 10 years.

    The storage? Maybe.

    The battery? You really think it will hold more than ten seconds of charge six years from now? Good luck getting it changed.

    On planes I bring a mouse with me rather than use the Lenovo track pad. It's that bad.

    Some of us like to run an OS that doesn't suck ass and doesn't require constant care and feeding like Linux or Windows.

    I own a MacBook. I pretty much hate the OS. It makes me want to scream every time I have to use it. I have no idea what Mac users are on about.

    So you messed up. Not every non-apple laptop is a piece of throwaway plastic junk. Thinkpads (for example) are mil-spec ruggedness and better compute specifications than Apple - you can get i7s, etc.

    I agree with your first sentence but respectfully disagree with the rest; these things are exactly what makes a laptop a premium one and I think it's fair enough. If I had lots of disposable income I'd buy one in a heartbeat.

    You haven't ever looked at (eg.) Thinkpads then? Much better built and specced than anything Apple makes.

    Not every non-Apple laptop is a $300 throwaway piece of plastic junk...

    I buy that. Sure.

    All models have a built in error. Nobody's predicting exact values for anything.

    What a correction does (this is a correction) does is narrow the best/worse case scenarios a bit, that's simple to understand even for nincompoops.

    Problem is: The corrections aren't ever going to make it point downwards, which is where it needs to go.

  19. Yep. Just like all the roads those goods were driven along during delivery. The road builders should be held responsible too. And the truck manufacturers/drivers.

    It's not as if the news wasn't full of stories about exploding hoverboards so the parents should be held responsible for not junking it or anything like that.

    How will they prevent people from:
    a) Lying to them?
    b) Shipping something inferior to the stuff they showed Amazon during the vetting process?

    An official Amazon "seal of approval" would just make things much worse for everybody.

    Not without some vetting, or for limited products (like self-published books).

    Even if Amazon vets, what's to stop shady sellers from acting all legit then shipping something inferior to the products they showed to Amazon? Amazon would end up as the bad guy because they were their ones who gave their seal of approval. Never going to happen.

    When something is fashionable and expensive at Xmas an evil seller can make money and vanish before anybody figures out what's going on. There's no way for Amazon to stop that.
