Also add in that many of the books out there about ninjutsu techniques (not counting the fraud crap like Ashida Kim), many of the techniques are explained improperly and/or pictures are put out of order or shown improperly on purpose. I know that in my Genbukan curriculum manual (yes, we have a standardized training manual that shows which techniques are required for each ranking, unlike the Booj:P ) that there are numerous examples of this. This is to keep any random person from just buying the manual, trying to learn the techniques and then passing themselves off as a Genbukan practitioner. A teacher is required for correct instruction, with the manual also leaving out much that is only kuden (oral teachings) that can only come from a qualified teacher. The manual is only really used after the fact as a reference guide to look back on as an outline.
Well, the damage could in fact be limited to our own local galaxy. On the other hand, he could simply go into shock and pass out before Marty and Doc find him.
If there weren't others going around saying that their stamps tell them to go to war, or that if they blow up bus loads of innocent people to get fill up their stamp books quicker, there wouldn't be a need for such anti-stamp collecting people.
I would imagine that since the majority (I'm assuming here, of course) of people using iPods are going to be listening through the iPod earbuds, they would want to test using that. Sure, they could have tested it using the highest quality headphones on the market, but how would that be representative?
Anything else is adultered by man and is not translated word for word from the divinely .
Before you start asking for cites of proof, perhaps you might want to consider taking your own advice here. Oh, the irony of a faith-head asking for proof about a particular version of the Bible...
I recommend "The Age of Spiritual Machines" before you move on to "Singularity Is Near" as it provides quite a bit of information that helps you understand the latter.
I'd love to do all my music production in Linux, unfortunately I have a MOTU 828mkII for my audio interface and MOTU MIDI Express 128 midi patchbay, neither of which have drivers for Linux that I'm aware of. I got these pieces before I started fooling around with Linux, so there's my excuse.:P I've inquired to MOTU about Linux support, but I've never received a response. Anyone else using this stuff and know how to get it to work with Linux?
Ding. To me, that's the whole point of Hawkins' book and it looks like quite a few people have missed it. All the things we want to call intelligence seem to ultimately boil down to pattern matching.
It is if I (or whoever) create it and say it is. That doesn't mean anyone is forced to pay for it, nor does it mean anyone is entitled to access to it without paying for it if I so demand it, just by virtue of it being "art".
The flip side to that is if artists shouldn't expect to profit from their work, someone else shouldn't expect to access to or to consume that work either. Artists aren't guaranteed to get paid if people refuse to buy their product, then people won't have access to that work either, just like anything else you refuse to pay for. You shouldn't get to have it both ways.

Duke Nukem Forever??! :D
Haven't you seen the Bourne Ultimatum yet? How the hell else do you think they can track all those people like that??
(for the pedants, yes yes, I know it was 'crossing the streams', deal with it :P )
Foxit Reader, a free PDF reader app. Works pretty good.
Or you could see how it blends! w00t!

You could define light to move at 100,000,000 m/s, 100,000 m/s, or 100 m/s, as long as you sufficiently redefine either the meter or the second. :)
That actually is a pretty interesting question. What if instead of 4 or 5 people it was 1499 who each put in a penny towards the purchase of a CD?

Bend over.

It's called a saccade, and as another poster noted below, you wouldn't be able to see without it.

They could kill two birds with one stone and pursue raping nerds!

Hey, look over there, Natalie Portman! D'oh! *runs*
There, I fixed that for you.
Heh, you think that's bad, imagine the commute!
Don't forget to calibrate the forward deflector array to scan for possible Cherenkov radiation resulting from tachyon emissions!
I believe you may have missed the part where the GP said "whichever greater", read it again.
