I recall during my 4th grade year (about 4 years ago), scientists devised a method for an Indiana man who was blind to see again. What they did, IIRC, was create a pair of glasses that fed the digitized data through a wire to a processor worn around his waist, which in turn transferred the data as electrical signals into his brain directly (as you can guess, they had to drill a hole in his head; a small one though). This method allowed the once-blind man to see about 20 feet in front.
Soon after, they ended up innovating that even more.
Not really close to the bionic eye idea, but close; earlier in the generations.
So what this is telling us is the Feds are really just script kiddies?
No, the feds are one of the only types of hackers that aren't script kiddies. Taxpayer money is funnelled to teach them out to both program and hack. That's why your tax return this year was a bit less than last year's.
Well, let's go back to the Articles of Confederation. Why were the weak? State sovereignity was too strong.
In any case, that was the FCC, not Senate or House. What does being a Republican/conservative relate to that, unless coincidentally the FCC is made up of Republicans?
Wow, this is going to be great. We can actually take more advantage of our 64-bit processors and see what they can offer!
I want an AMD 64 FX-55.:-(
Anyways, isn't this Windows 64 bit edition supposed to sport the new user interface changes, namely, the 3D Desktop? (I know there's the 3D-Desktop SF.net project that runs only on Linux.)
Slashdot has been taken over by a band of rabid monkeys in a successful coup d'etat attempt! Slashdot will now be a place where monkey pr0n will run rampant!
And on other news, Microsoft has turned its back on commercial software, and is making Windows open-source!
Yep.
Since they're talking about how Matt needs some money to continue with WordPress, I'm going to donate $20 or so to him. I use WordPress and I love it, and haven't gotten around to donating anything.
Yahoo already offers it, but not for free. Now, if Yahoo Geocities (free) offered PHP and mySQL, and didn't adopt that agressive ad policy that Lycos UK had, they'd win some brownie points.
Why should I even worry about Yahoo offering any of this? I already have webhosting and a domain name with thePlanet connectivity. Lycos UK and Geocities sucked when I was stuck with them.
Just curious, but if you burned a track with DRM onto a CD, then ripped it using let's say CDex or a third-party ripping app, would the DRM be added back? If so, how would the auto-detection scheme work?
I prefer the most recent, stable version of PHP4 (currently 4.3.10). Lots of apps I use, including phpBB, are much better off with PHP4. I'll wait a year or two before converting to PHP5.
My dad uses it every year, and the state tax version comes with the federal one for free, along with a bunch of other free stuff. TurboTax rules. Good support, updates provided, and it's certified to eFile your returns to Uncle Sam. It's worth buying.
Though you may not admit it, you can't get everything for free, and it won't always be open-source. Deal with it.

So... this is an American blog by an American, yet it breaks a Canadian publication law, and that's bad? :-/
Trampling on State rights is definitely not.

Or we can model protein folding even faster. The Folding@Home wars have begun! BlueGene versus the human race!

This isn't an April's Fools joke. It's a vision into the future, where a phisher's name really IS John Doe!
That thing's pretty useful, ironically enough.
However, please just stop the d@mned April Fools jokes! They all get old within a second of reading them!
Slashdot has finally been slashdotted!

Heh, thanks if you can provide a link to a package.
;-)
I'm trying to compile it in MinGW as well, but still have some things to learn about it.
BTW, the interface/scheme GTK offers isn't *that* bad. As long as GIMPShop will run on my WindowsXP box, I'm happy.

Indeed.
Thank you. Switching to Linux should not only be due to an urge to join the bandwagon of Microsoft-haters.
They know that they could make a lot of money off of this lawsuit against Google- a big, expanding company making millions.
Thank you! I agree.
Bill Nye was always cool and funny.
Wow, I didn't know Bill Nye was *that* old. 0_0
Bill Nye rules. Period. End of discussion.

W00t! Dungeons & Dragons rule!
Especially when played with MAME, though.

Kudos to AOL for doing the right thing.

Only Democrats.
Heh, I wonder how the state's going to keep track of how many downloads were done, what site, etc.?
I hope people like that Wisconsin governor won't ever propose something even remotely similar to that stupid proposal...
Hey, Indiana's in debt, but we haven't and won't propose a tax on internet downloads...
